Boulder Sunday
My boulder photo today for @shasta's #BoulderSunday challenge is an edited photo of some of the red rocks in Sedona, AZ.
I've been there a few times and am always amazed by the beauty, and shocked by how much the area has grown from when I first visited there and took these photos in the 80s.
Bell Rock
Musician Greg Brown has a song called Boomtown that mentions Sedona and all the rich folks that have moved in there and built houses... "The natives have to move - they cannot pay the taxes.
Santa Fe has had it. Sedona has, too.
Maybe you'll be lucky - maybe your town will be the new boomtown"

I get homesick for AZ and it has never been my home! I do have great memories of times spent there, though.
Very beautiful bloulders @melinda010100! Love those edits! :-)
Almost looks like a couple heads sitting up in the middle of the first
photo, the lighter colored one on the right really stands out. Awesome
song, I've not heard this till now! Gorgeous photos, Arizona sure
has a lot of fantastic rocks!
Thanks, luv! I've been to a couple of Greg's live concerts (he is an Iowa boy) One of my favorite songs is Canned Goods where he sings about his grandma putting summer in a jar. I love that deep voice of his.
Wao so beautiful view
Thanks! I keep hoping you can work with @Steemcleaners and get that message off your posts.
That looks oddly beautiful.
I am assuming that it's somewhere in the US of A
In the state of Arizona, which is in the American southwest. AZ is where the Grand Canyon is. 2000 miles away from Wisconsin, where I live.
I would not mind the to a tour of America. Your country is so huge compared to ours
It is huge. I have done a lot of traveling in my lifetime and still have not been to all the states or seen all the things I would like to see!
That I can only believe Melinda.
A nice lot of boulders in Sendona Melinda.
The American southwest is a beautiful part of the world!
Those are some mighty fine boulders @melinda010100! I love love love the southwest. Thanks for sharing!
It is an incredible part of the world, isn't it? I love it, too.
It looks like an old cowboy movie 😍
Definitely cowboy movie country! Even when they weren't actually filmed in the southwest the backdops were made to look as if they were!
Here there is the little tip from your result in the PhotoChain Challenge.
Thanks for your participation 🙂

Thank you! Great way to promote your wonderful contest!
Nice boulders Melinda! In my region (Aragón) there are lots of boulder, that are climbed by specialists.
I'm going to search some pics in my phototeca and I'll try ti participate in @shasta's contest!
I've been in Catalonia, but never Aragon and I would love to see your rock photos! I know @shasta would love to see them, too.
Sure! Next sunday you'll see them! See you!
Wow that bell rock is quite something! Fantastic shots!
There are lots of great rock formations in and around Sedona.
Cathedral Rock
Airport Mesa
Coffee Pot Rock
Courthouse Butte
Steamboat Rock, plus canyons and trails.
I wish I had good photos of them all, but my visits were before Steem and I wasn't into taking photos, as no one ever cared to look through my travel photos anyway! 😁
Interesting way of showing these photos. Are they actually posted as one photo?
What means the "boulder photo"?
Happy day 💕

I framed each photo separately.
Boulder=large rock
@melinda010100 Thank you for explaining. Enjoy your day. 💕
Hope you have a great day, too!
Love those kind of boulders so much character in them 👍

Howdy Melinda! I remember the area as a kid when we traveled that way every winter but I don't like the fact that it is all changing now, probably with huge condo developments and big homes.
The rocks are still the same, at least, but that's about all!
That's amazing because I didn't think a dessert area like that would be so appealing.
