Devil's Potato Patch

This is the ultimate destination for #BoulderSunday photos! It is located in a hilly region near the Ridge Valley Creek and the Unami Creek in Salford Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It's only a few minutes from where I grew up. I took a drive out there the other day with my Canon Rebel t6 and tripod, and I took enough photos for at least 10 more Boulder Sunday posts...; and Tree Tuesday posts, and Wednesday Walk posts, and Sublime Sunday posts, etc. for months to come!

I'll definitely be going back to that area to take even more photos. I didn't drive through even a small fraction of the area. The boulders have helped to keep this unique place pretty rural. It's undesirable to farm or build a lot of houses there. Salford Township is an open space township. They have minimum acreages for building homes. A lot of the township is permanently preserved. I used to go there often when I was in high school with friends to drink beer and smoke weed. Back then, it was mostly all stone roads. They have since been paved, but are still very narrow. I went up this one road, and I was screwed if there was a car coming the other way, because it's barely wide enough for 1 vehicle, and nowhere to pull aside for miles. I would have had to go a long way in reverse.

There is a camp in the area called Camp Green Lane. It has a big lake. I didn't stop in the camp to take photos because I believe it's private property, and there were hillbilly contractors staring at me when I drove by. I think the road through it is a public road, so I could have taken photos from the street. There are also power lines that run through the area. I have some totally wicked photos of that, and lots of photos of the creek, but this is a boulder post. I'll upload more pics later this week.

Oh, you certainly have enough boulders, trees, and places to walk!! Well done! Are you sure you can't get my challenge covered with #MarketFriday?

I am very forgiving of the content. :) Just kidding!

Love the title and name of this place! Wow what very cool photos @edgy-ed! :-)
Doesn't look like a place to work a shovel lol. Power poles and towers are awesome
to see too! They can be quite photogenic! Awesome to see so many boulders like
this, sounds and looks like a great place to party!
