A Quick Update about STRAVA

Short Updates and Baby Steps

...kinda like how I train...

cool gif for cool guys

Plus -- I made a cool little gif animation with Blender

I just updated the script for the Strava-sync, and added a cron-job for it on the server so that it should look for new activities every hour. You can still hit the button on the log-activity page to check for a new activity that you just completed -- but if you had your workout a little while ago, and then took a little while to get to your computer and sit down to write a Steem post, well it might be there waiting for you when you get there.

This is a temporary solution before I get around to learing about Strava's "webhook subscription service" that is, as far as I understand it, essentially just an API post notification that tells you to look for a new activity.

Stay tuned! Next up, I'm going to implement a quick script that will allow users the option to auto-post new activities to Steem (if they have provided @exhaust w/ authority to access their posting keys on their behalf via SteemConnect -- similar to how SteemAuto operates for voting trails).

Cheers -- and Stay Exhausted

As always.... let me know if I broke anything in my brief attempts to improve them

Will definately test this when I figure out how. I can’t log on using my phone so I often forget using exhaust. :-s Perhaps it is the internet browser on my iPhone?

Hmmm. Maybe. I don't have an iPhone so it's hard for me to test that.

If you're logging in via your phone, make sure you hit the "Login w/ SteemConnect" button, as SteemKeychain doesn't work with mobile:

Tonight -- I'll edit it so the SteemKeychain option doesn't pop up if you don't have it installed on your browser.

Cheers!

Nice work man...I didn't know about their web hooks either, so that's pretty cool. This could hopefully get more people involved but at the moment it seems there is a pretty cool group of regulars using it which is awesome.
Look forward to more info.

Thanks dude! Also -- I wasn't sure if the comments still worked or not, since HF21 was rolled out. Looks like they do, so that's good to know! haha.

Definitely agree. Things seem to be at a good place with a good core-group of regulars. I like it. I'm thinking about getting some of my colleagues involved across offices, and even considering the idea of asking the company themselves if they'd be interested in acquiring some SP so they can "encourage employees to live a healthy lifestyle"... or something like that... Still just a thought.
