Hi Everyone,

Another year has past and it just seemed like yesterday I joined the My 2018 series. Life has changed 180 degrees in 2019 and a part of me is kind of glad I am still doing the things I love and of course still stay as active as I can on the Steem Blockchain. Let’s see what I have achieved this year and what I didn’t do so well.

Achievements

On the 3rd of Jan, I returned back to full time work, nearly 5 years away from the job. I have been very lucky and was able to return back to my old job, same team, same company. If you are a new follower of mine, may not know that I was on paternity leave for an extended period of time and took a long break. Going back to work was a new challenge for the family, myself and everyone else around us. Routines needed to be changed, new arrangements need to be made, pick things back from work which was all very challenging. I’m grateful work has been extremely flexible so I was able to slowly ease back to work and have the family adjust to this change. This achievement was something I have been proud of and I am blessed that I still in the job after a year ( I thought I have given up by now)

The second thing which was an achievement was taking my first holiday without the family. Going to Steem Fest 4 was something I wanted to do all along but unfortunately, my other half wasn’t keen on Bangkok because of the heat and dragging two kids with him while I’m at the events would be too hard for him. So the decision was made that I go on this trip myself and he will stay at home with the two little ones for 2 weeks. It was hard leaving the kids and this is the first time I have done so for an extended period of time. Even my mum told me to think about it leaving the kids for that long. But I knew I had to do it so I booked the tickets, attended Steem Fest and had the best time this year. It was a good decision we didn’t take the kids to Bangkok as they would of hated the crowds, the heat and will give my other half a hard time. This is definitely an achievement for leaving the kids for the first time.

Failures

Failures is a hard one and I think every year I would say there aren’t any failures. The only thing I can do better was to get the house in order. Going back to work full time doesn’t leave me a lot of time getting the house to the state it used to. It is to a point, I would clean the toys in the morning, by night the toys are all out so I would think why bother and just let the mess stay. If I do have more time, I probably can do more but with time away from home, I have to make the sacrifice and use my time wisely and in a way strategically.
