Blockchain Road Trip 1.0: A recap

After lots of preparation, planning, reaching out to sponsors and speakers and many other people, we (@barineka, @bookoons & @daniel-otaniel) finally decided on September 20th to 27th, 2019 as the time to make history in Blockchain and cryptocurrency awareness and adoption in Nigeria.

We set out to become Crypto and Blockchain technology evangelists on 3 campuses in three states of the South West Region of Nigeria. It was different from other meetups that have been happening in the past as we decided to add fun and tourism to learning.

The campuses to be impacted were chosen; Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, located in the ancient state of Oyo. The next stop was Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, a great citadel of learning situated in the ancient town of Ile-ife, Osun state, the cradle of the Yorubas. The final stop was Ondo State University of Science and Technology, OSUSTECH, Okitipupa, Ondo state, home of the Ikale people.

We had a brief fun stop over at Olumirin waterfalls popularly known as Erin-Ijesha waterfalls, Osun state. This was a whole lot of fun.


The attendees were well fed with delicious meals from our speakers from various Blockchain projects and other enthusiasts.
