"Behind The Photo"
The idea to show how photographs are born seemed interesting to me. Indeed, in the posts we see the end result, whatever it may be. I am a simple amateur photographer and do photography mainly for myself. Recently, also for Steеmit.
My story happened on the lake. This is Nakhimovskoe Lake, which is located 85 kilometers from St. Petersburg (Russia). Sometimes I come there to my friend. His house is located on the eastern shore of the lake. This means that I can watch the sun go down. You never know what the sunset will be like today. The day was cloudy. Sometimes the sun peeked out. I was hoping that maybe a colorful sunset. For example, like this
I did not take a tripod with me. I like to take live photos with my hands. I do not use filters either. Just a Sony A7M2 camera with a Sony 1.4 35 lens. This is all my equipment.
The weather was windy and clouds covered half the sky. Sometimes the sun peeked out, but there were no warm colors in the sky. It just blinded my lens. Seeing the clouds moving, I wandered along the shore in anticipation of a convenient moment. Just in case, I took some pictures. I don’t know what I was waiting for. Just waiting and taking pictures.
These pictures are almost not processed. A slight correction of the settings.
Finally, something interesting appeared. Warm colors in the sky were not added, but the clouds lined up in an interesting order. As if a chain of something fluffy was born somewhere near the horizon and stretched towards me.
After taking a few shots, I decided to leave this whole venture and return home to the fireplace and hot tea. The wind managed to cool me down.
This is the prehistory.
Today I began to choose something interesting from this series. In the end, my choice settled on this picture. At first he looked like this
I always shoot in RAW format and having received all the possible information, at home I am already developing the picture. Lately I use Lightroom
Here you can see that so far I have not changed anything. Furthermore, ISO100 35 mm f / 9.0 1/250.
Here you can see all the changes in the settings. I adjusted the light / shadow, added a little contrast and sharpness. I had to clean the picture from the spots that appeared when shooting. The end result is what you see below.
it's not really a sunset, actually. The sun still sank to the horizon. Perhaps later those warm tones appeared in the sky that I mentioned. It’s just that I didn’t have the patience that evening.
This is the story of the appearance of this photo here in front of you. I hope that I have fulfilled all the conditions of the competition. Ready to answer possible questions.
Have a nice weekend
thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much for your support! :)
Although I love the first photo which shows a very beautiful sunset, I like the photo you have selected very much too. These clouds, which have kind of lined up look great @bambuka 😊

I agree that in the selected photo there are no warm sunset tones, as in the first. But you are right, the main role is played by clouds and their location. It was on them that I focused on that day.
Thank you so much for the bunch of presents. This is a generous gesture. Unfortunately I can only answer with !BEER
I only said, that I love this first photo - if you didn't put it there I would have written more about the other photo.
I do completely understand, that this photo was used as an eyecatcher, and I think it does its job very well, but at least I would have opened your post anyway ;)
The final photo is very cool and the story behind the photo is very good as well ... and the cat also 👍🙂
Thank you for the token and have a nice evening @bambuka 🙂
If I didn't want to give !DERANGED !BEER I wouldn't do it ;)
!BEER :-)
Thanks a lot for the !BEER and have a great Sunday 🙂

Thank you so much for taking part in our contest! We hope you enjoyed writing it as much as we did reading your story behind your photo.
We wish you the best of luck in the contest.
Thanks for the contest. It was really interesting to trace this story from its beginning. Moreover, I remembered the good time of summer.
Will your competition be on an ongoing basis or just this time?
Oh those summer days...
We would love to, yes. But we have to see how this first one goes first. We find it interesting and different but let's see!
Thanks again :)
ok, let's watch together :-))
Thanks for your entry @bambuka! Very interesting to read! Good luck!

Your lakeside photographs are remarkable regardless of a missing golden sun on this particular occasion. We could be entertained by playing a game of "what do you see on the clouds?" @bambuka
Glad your visit, thank you very much!
For such a game, I have a few shots. This is an interesting topic :-)
I cannot wait for these games to begin, my friend! 😀
What games are you talking about? :)
The one where we look at the clouds and tell what we see in them :)
Is someone playing these games or should they be organized? :-)
None that I know of though I think we should think about turning it into a thing on Steemit, perhaps create a hashtag or host a contest?
As a result of the competition there must be winners. Winners must receive a prize. In this case, we need sponsors who are ready to give this prize.
You can, of course, organize something that looks like a relay race. On Stееmit I have no such experience. Here I am rather a participant :-)
Hi @bambuka. Would you please be so kind as to put the link to the original contest post, in your post?
Yes ... I really missed this link, but I was sure that I installed it. Now everything is fixed. Thanks for prompting me to do this.
Thanks @bambuka!
