Space Elevator

I just realized I’ve been spending more time talking about stocks on Leofinance and I have not posted a beer review in some time. Im going to try to strike a balance and the beer community is my first passion on this platform. I’d like to bridge my two worlds and try to get some of you involved in my stock trading discussions because I know how smart the people on our community are. Enough of me trying to promote my other hive endeavors. Let’s talk beer!

Today I’m reviewing Space Elevator by Speciations. This is not really a beer, but it’s a Natural Hard Seltzer with Mango, Ginger, & Lime. I love this brewery because they try to spice local ingredients and this one is made with Michigan beet sugar, whole mango chunks, and fresh ginger & lime.

The appearance of Speciation’s hard seltzer is a bit different than others. Most of the time other breweries make theirs crystal clear. Speciations are also the color of the ingredients which makes theirs feel more natural. Being that this one has lime and ginger it’s slight off green with a fairly high amount of small carbonation bubbles streaming from the bottom of the glass. There is practically no head.

The aroma is early with seltzer, lime, ginger and sweet fruits present on the nose. It’s pretty fragrant and that’s because of the carbonation which helps carry these notes.

The flavor is lime forward with that face puckering effect. Then you get a bit of spicy ginger and it finishes sweet. I could not pick out the mango specifically, but I know some of the sweet characteristic is derived from it.

The mouthfeel is super refreshing as a hard seltzer should be. It tickles the mouth and almost has a cooling effect on the throat. It’s a pleasant drink overall.

I have a few more of their hard seltzers to try. I like lime so I was pretty excited by this one. The next few I’m going to try have a few more exotics fruits in them.

Cheers,
Cryptictruth

nice review! I'd join you on leo to but for some reason got muted when I think I discussed comic books as an investment opportunity. What can you do??

How would you say this one compares to something like White Claw or Truly? I can usually drink a seltzer or two, like a Claw, but then have to move on to beer because of the sweetness. Looks like a beautiful day over there too

Way more flavor and complexity. I’d also say they are a bit heavier than the claw. That’s weird about Leo as they talk about all sorts of investments. That’s really disappointing to hear honestly.

hey it happens - i've reached out a few times on Twitter but they seem to only respond to compliments...not a big deal though, plenty of other options on Hive. It's tough to get away from censorship, regardless of the platform

I don't think that brewery is available in this area; actually, we don't have a lot of microbrewery type seltzers whatever in the area. I would guess that will change as that market keeps blowing up.

I haven't tried hard seltzer yet - it's just starting to take off in Australia - which is to say everyone is saying it's about to take off, I don't know anyone who is actually drinking it yet - we shall see.

That is definitely a really interesting flavor combination that you explained there. I would imagine the ginger gives it a sharp crisp flavor. I haven't really gotten into many of the seltzers at all because most of them taste artificial to me. I might have to try some of these craft ones at some point.
