So this quarantine has given me plenty of time to drink. I’m not sure that’s a good thing, but at least I’m getting some good content... They say to always look on the positive side so that what’s I’m trying. Now I just need to make sure I hit the treadmill to burn off the added calories.
For this review I drank Evil Twin Brewing’s How Cool Is This? In The Catskills We Can Get That True Upstate Experience. Yes, that’s the actual name!
This is an imperial DIPA that’s double dry hopped DDH with citra, simcoe, ekuanot hopes. Its appearance is a darker dank yellow that’s more similar to a orange juice than a beer. It also has a pretty good amount of hazy characteristics considering it’s not at NEIPA.
The aroma is snappy with nice bitter and citrus notes. It’s pretty balanced, but leaned towards a classic hoppy DIPA. I enjoyed how aromatic this beer remained during the drinking experience. As it warmed I started to pick up a slight sweetness.
The flavor was spectacular! It’s bitter and sweet with a a nice citrus body. I get lemon, lime and orange. I also get a grain sweetness that was unexpectedly refreshing. It was an easy drinking beer for the ABV percentage. At 8% one pint was enough to relax the muscles for a night of Netflix.
