Brewery in Třeboň (Wittingau)

Třeboň is a town in South Bohemia with about 8.000 inhabitants. Beer has been brewed here since 1379. Since 1698 in this place. And the last major building modifications took place in the middle of the 19th century.

When I was in Třeboň, I couldn't miss a tour of the brewery. The brewery is called Regent in honor of Jakub Krčín, regent of the local estate in the 16th century. He was an avid builder of ponds and his ponds are still here.

About 850,000 hectoliters of beer are produced here annually. About 40 people work here. Half in production, half in marketing. Although the brewery is a joint-stock company, the shares are owned by the family of Ing. Ferdinand Stašek. It's actually a family business.

Cylindroconical tanks replaced the original open fermentation. Modern technologies have already replaced traditional methods. Without innovation, the brewery would not be competitive...

(Lager cellars)
Beer no longer matures in wooden barrels, but it still has to rest for one week to several months in cellars at a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.

Beer is brewed here only once every 14 days. Of the 25 cellars, only three are used. Nevertheless, the production of beer pays off ... In the case of sales, however, production can multiply almost immediately.

I don't want to explicitly advertise the brewery. Perhaps twenty types of beer are brewed here. And everyone makes sense to taste. Some are traditional, some experimental. What customers like is brewed...

Třeboňský pivovar Regent
Třeboň je město v Jižních Čechách s asi 8000 obyvateli. Pivo se tu prokazatelně vařilo od roku 1379. Od roku 1698 na tomto místě. A poslední velké stavební úpravy se uskutečnily v polovině 19.století.

Když už jsem byl v Třeboni, nemohl jsem si nechat ujít prohlídku pivovaru. Pivovar se jmenuje Regent na počest Jakuba Krčína, regenta zdejšího panství v 16.století. Byl to horlivý stavitel rybníků a jeho rybníky jsou zde dosud.

Ročně se tu uvaří asi 850.000 hektolitrů piva. Pracuje tu asi 40 lidí. Polovina ve výrobě, polovina v marketingu. Pivovar je sice akciovou společností, ale akcie vlastní rodina ing.Ferdinanda Staška. Je to vlastně rodinný podnik.

Cylindrokónické tanky nahradily původní otevřené kvašení. Moderní technologie už zaměnily tradiční postupy. Bez inovací by pivovar nebyl konkurenceschopný...

Pivo už sice nezraje v dřevěných sudech, ale přeci musí odpočívat od jednoho týdne do několika měsíců ve sklepích při teplotě 5 stupňů Celsius.

Pivo se zde vaří jen jednou za čtrnáct dnů. Z dvaceti pěti sklepů jsou využívány jen tři. Přesto se výroba piva vyplatí... V případě odbytu se ale výroba může téměř okamžitě zmnohonásobit.

Nechci dělat pivovaru vysloveně reklamu. Vaří se tu snad dvacet druhů piva. A každé má smysl ochutnat. Některá jsou tradiční, některá experimentální. Co zákazníkům chutná, to se vaří.
