The Need for a Beautiful Sunday

Words bound in a gentle touch
As the whisper of your kiss
Lingers
Breath so soft against my neck
Touching that place
In my heart
Again

image.png

Oh, Sunday! Where would the week be without you? We would just be another six days, wouldn't we? That just wouldn't work, you see. You complete me, make me whole, finish the cycle. I thank you for that and so much more. Sunday seems to be a day of grateful vibes passing from one to another, crisscrossing the globe. If I stop and think about it, I have so much to be thankful for. But, that is a post of another color.

“We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”
Frederick Keonig

1.jpg

When memories start to fade, clip them back a bit... then provide food and water to the "cutting" while it is establishing roots.

Today is a perfect day for a perfect day! I've said this before, but, when it is full and unavoidably true, it requires to be said again and again.

Today will be a down day for me, which means that I will probably be spending most of my day in my gardens, giving them a little extra love and deadheading and weeding a bit. I planted some marigold seeds late in the season and now I need to take the time to weed around what their overabundance has caused. I broadcast them throughout the garden, sending the seeds far and wide... and now, we live in the land of Marigold. Here! Take a couple of flowers! Flowers! There always must be flowers!

image.png

Sunday is a most popular day! This post is for #BeautifulSunday by @ace108 (where you share the story of your day with us!) and #SublimeSunday by @c0ff33a (where everything eclectic and true, finds a home!) and #SundayPurpleColorChallenge by @Kalemandra - there are so many more great tags out there! Pick one and post!

image.png

If ever a moment shall present itself
Silent you should be
Your gentle touch only serves to remind
Of a love that shall never be

Sometimes, doing the needful is enough for a #BeautifulSunday, although not as exciting as some days, is just exactly what we need to be doing. For me, today needed to be all about getting the little things done, as I have spent so much time in the last few weeks doing all the big things that are visible and leaving the small things behind. Toiling about the house, and the flowers and I will be calling it a day, a definite #SublimeSunday in the making, by the Meister of my morning, @c0ff33a. I do love my @c0ff33 and he likes eclectic! A match made in heaven.

I bought a new car yesterday!! I was totally excited! It is a Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited and it is in my driveway right now, saving me gas money! Woo-hoo!

image.png

And just because this is so eclectic (It's true!!) I am showing off me steeming with you. I nixed the refrigerator picture this week because there was nothing to show. I haven't gone shopping yet so I could show off the remnants of nothing, but, where is the fun in that?

Even the fuschia on the porch is loving life right now. The right amount of heat, guarded against the sun and plenty of water. Rinse. Repeat. Fuschias are forever thirsty. Such a simple request. Water me generously. Oh! Life is good. Just ask this plant.

image.png

I knew before I saw you
Your touch would start my turn
From the bottom to the top
To a place I can breathe
Once, all over again

With you, but alone
The night almost gone
I know how I feel
Getting off this merry-go-round
Again, all over again

And just like that, these musings are done. I want to thank @ace108 and @c0ff33a for hosting these challenges and just so you know, although much sun and shine was used up today, I can guarantee that there is still a little left in my heart. Have a most fabulous day!

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post, again and again. Keep it classy, people. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

Thank you so much and I am happy to see you here as I haven't seen you in awhile. I was hoping everything was all well with you and I see that you are now back just in time for the hard Fork.

The new car was necessary because somebody hit my other car and totaled it. So it was a necessary evil. It made me sad because the car was not new and have been around for a long time and it took one moment for somebody else to take that all away. It lived a full life and now I hope that this will also. Have a most wonderful day! Happy Monday!

Good morning dear Denise. If lately I have not been so active! But here I still want everything to improve with Steemit, that would help me so much.

It's a shame what happened with your car. But I'm so glad you could buy another one, that's wonderful. Day by day I want so much to live in a place where buying things is possible and not quite a challenge as it is here in Venezuela. I wish your week was wonderful

Thank you so much for your always kind words and it's nice to see that you have a down day occasionally, even if that down day includes tap tap tapping away the computer. I guess it's better than you out traversing the neighborhood.

Oh yes, Denise got a new car, but I'm not sure if you knew that someone totaled my vehicle last month. Sitting on 95 at a complete stop because of an accident oh, somebody forgot to stop and rammed the car from the back. I actually think he was texting. Needless to say it totaled my car, making it needful to get another. Sadly, it was an older car and the value did not compensate enough to buy a bicycle. I love when that happens. Anyway I hope you're having a better day and that all is well in your world.

Have a great week!

Always a pleasure and i keep telling you I am not kind i just say it as I see it :)

I did spend some time on the computer tap tap tapping away and also edit edit editing away, but the majority of the day was resting with my Feet up :)

Ohh no I didnt know your car got totaled so sorry to hear that I hope you weren’t not injured int he crash, and Ohh texting and riding thats a pet peeve of mine i see people do it all the time and feel like screaming at them your driving pay attention!!!

So far my day s going well went for a shortish was before work and the knee seemed to cope pretty well so thats good

You to have a great day

How about you let it cope for two or three days so it will really be amazing? It may feel good, but, giving it that extra time to heal a bit more may keep it better for a longer time.

You will never know unless you try! :)

I was trying to figure out why I didn't tell you, but, it was on the way to the pony swim (from the DC area to the Shore) So much time lapsed in between, that it became afact of life as opposed to a problem in life.

I wasn't injured, but the driver and my daughter were a little. But, she is starting to feel like her old self again. Thanks for asking.

Hope your day continues to go smoothly along! I get to go to the dentist this afternoon, so boo!!!! :(

LOL me to do that that sounds like being very sensible LOL
But i was prett sensible was a slow walk this morning and i did take it easy, I know these knees of mine they do this to me every now and again and hen settle down, its been a couple of years since they played up so I cannot complain

But that said I am just doing a short walk in the mornings for my sanity and then whatever steps I do around work out to lunch etc which for me is taking it very easy :)
Sorry. To hear your daughter wa injured but glad to hear she is coming back to her old self.

And with you I suspect you do not often encounter things you see as a problem i life, you have such a positive attitude and deal with anything that comes your way in a positive and bright way

Ohh no the dentist, good Luk with that I have my next appointment inn two weeks but thats just putting in the final crown so easy

Thank you so much! I was pretty excited to get a new car as I think that all the cars are grossly overpriced! I know that everybody has to work and earn a wage, especially in those type of jobs however what a car cause the price of a new house oh, there's something wrong with that. I guess it's all in the matter of when the way you think.

It was, indeed a very Sublime Sunday and I am fortunate to have so much Beauty in my life. I hope your day was wonderful as well and I wish you a most wonderful week. Thank you for taking the time to stop in and say hello, leaving your kind words behind.

Beautiful pictures and words from you today. I always love a Sunday. We have a church full of friends that meets here at our house. And we occasionally get something done. Today we had a short power outage, but it came back on within an hour. That's a good day! LOL

Thank you so much! I always love Sunday too and the first thing my family always says is we go Church, and have fellowship with those around us. It's always a very warm experience and feels like we start off our day and week the right way.

I am sorry to hear about the power outage but grateful that it came back in a short time. I know that there are so many places in the world with rolling blackouts that I feel fortunate, for the moment oh, that we are not experiencing those things. However we know how fleeting good luck and be in that department. I am glad you consider it a good day and I wish you well as you start into the new week.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and say hello, leaving your kind words behind.

Awesome looking car, Denise and a hybrid.

What a nice relaxing way to spent a Sunday, in the flower garden and taking care of the little things. The fuschia plant is beautiful.

From what I can see your home is beautiful. 😊

It is a hybrid, Jo! The one that I trade it in was also a hybrid and I am so thrilled to death with it. The one I traded in than the one I bought. The one that I trade it in was getting over 40 miles per gallon oh, so it was Electric and Gas, but that's necessary around here because of the distances, akin to Canada. But I like to feel as if we are doing our part so hybrid was a no-brainer.

Can you think of a better way to spend a Sunday then amongst the beauty of nature? The fuchsia was started with three little twigs and has evolved into a beauty. I wish I wasn't so lazy and I would bring it in over the winter, but plants like that just make a big mess in the house so I just start a new every single year. I know, I know that even sounded bad to my ears.

Thank you for the comment regarding the house and I guess you do get a snippet of it it's I took a shot of me well I was doing the Beautiful Sunday post. LOL thank you for stopping by and saying hello then leaving those kind words behind. Have a wonderful week ahead!

It’s good if we all used electric cars and they would go longer distances on a charge. I’m sure that will come in future.

It hard to look after all the plants that need overwintering. I only have perennials outside and can’t keep any plants in the house because the cats like to dig at them or chew. That’s my excuse. 😊

Thanks Denise and have a great week! 💕

You too!! I agree! I love the hybrid!!!! Electric would be great with a longer charge, but, can you imagine driving across Canada on electric?

No Bueno! That is why we have hybrid.

I have 90% perennials. That makes it easier. LOL

Thanks, Jo! A great week to you!

Oh that is a beauty of a car! Great lines and super classy. Nice choice, Denise.

What a comfy looking place to blog! I would never ever want to leave there! They would have to drag me away.

I think that is so cool how you keep putting in different selfies! Hope to see some in the new ride :D

Thank you so much for always stopping I to say hello and leaving those most wonderful words behind. The car was planned and not planned. I've been looking at different ones since they totaled my car, but I did not know that today would be the day. The Highlander Hybrid limited is one of my top picks for my needs. The dealership is one of my favorite does they have outstanding service in every way.

You have no way of knowing this, but that is one of my most favorite places to blog, sitting there with my feet propped up and look stretched out with something nice to drink as I let my thoughts wander right down to my fingertips. As always, I wish you a most wonderful week ahead!

Yes well your blog is my number one first and last stop to check and see if there are any fresh musing. I think no one does it better, but I am not impartial I suppose. I must say the most touching words, and being a connoisseur, I have seen it from time to time, is when you write of a love that will never be. That is it right there. The true essence of a real heart ripper. That which is so close yet still out of reach. The unknown pleasure and magic of what could be.

I am sure you could find a comfy spot in any of your MF homes you have shown, but I must say that spot right there is mighty comfy and seems to fit you just right. Just think it wont be too long and you will be blogging in front of the fire all cozy, now that is hard to beat! I just hope you have a coaster for your cup!!!! LOL. I hope your week is stellar Denise.

Oh! Be real!!! I am all about the coasters! :)

I buy special ones all the time. No run-of-the-mill coasters for my coffee cups! :) Oh, I am not sure that I am looking forward to the warmth of the fire, no quite yet... not quite yet.

Can we wait just a little bit longer for that to come creeping around? Otherwise, I will have to leave for a bit and find some summer. Somewhere!

Congrats on the new car! We are seriously considering an electric (or Hybrid) for our next car. Most of our driving is in city (Europe), so range is not such a critical thing... plus the recharging infrastructure is okay here as well....

0

avatar
(Edited)

All Electric is feasible here, especially where I live, the recharging infrastructure is alive and well. The hybrid actually works better here for an all-around car because everything is much further if you go out of the city. When I lived in Europe oh, I couldn't believe how close everything was he said it was nothing to go through three or four countries in a day. I just trade it in 1 hybrid for another and the mileage is amazing on them and I like the system that takes over once you have powered up enough. So for my purposes, the hybrid is good however if I did live in Europe I would consider an electric also. Better for the environment in so many ways.

I I want to thank you for stopping in and saying hello and leaving your coming behind. As always I wish you a most wonderful week.

!tip

We are also considering a full electic, but I have sometimes some longer trips late at night when I think I would just be a little worried about having enough range! Maybe a hybrid would be a better way of easing into it!

0

avatar

If I get another, it will be full electric for around town, but, I believe until the range gets further, it will be a hybrid parked in my garage. I love the electric and if things were different, then that is the way I would go. Everyone I know that has one loves it.

Good luck! But, yeah, hybrid is the best way to ease into it! And the milage is great!!

Things are happening ... congratulations on the new car. It is very beautiful and I think it is comfortable.
I noticed that you went with the photos to the detail, to the macro. the result is very good!
I like marigold, I like the scent of flowers and leaves.
I would love to live in a marigold land!
Yesterday and I worked over six hours on a post on travelfeed.io, I wanted to make a very long blog but at 1.30 a.m. I gave up.
To my amusement, all $ 0.25. I wanted to prove once again that length doesn't matter. !trdo

Well, don't feel so bad because my post didn't do much better! I have said over and over since the beginning of time that it doesn't matter how long or how many post one does for the day. If you have 50 people voting for you, what are the chances are that they are going to vote twice or three times a day? So my thoughts are is that people will vote once a day and why could have three posts so that they have to decide which one they want to vote on? Perhaps it doesn't make any sense especially as someone who likes to blog, but I found when I was short on time that one works just as well as two or three. A little less satisfaction for my part but, I can't have everything.

Thank you for the well wishes on my new car. It is very comfortable and I think it's beautiful also. I am not one of those Americans who just buys a new car because the new year has happened. My old reliable car I was at a stop and someone came up from behind and didn't bother stopping. It total the entire car and made it so it would cost it more to fix up then to scrap it. So the insurance company totaled it. It was not new and so it wasn't worth as much in value to anybody but me. But things happened in life and so it forced me into another sale. I guess it's not all bad because it's newer and safer and even though the other one that I traded for it was also a hybrid. I do like the hybrids.

I do love the macros in the flowers but I have had so little time to photograph. Hopefully things will slow down and I will be able to get out and take more pictures. Marigolds have such a irrationally wonderful smell to them. I am sorry to hear about spending so much time on the post and I can honestly say that I have done the same thing. It is when I sit down to plan it that it doesn't come easily and there are days where it takes me probably less than an hour to put out one. I need to get better with that and hopefully with time it will.

I did get to read the post and I will respond to it in a little bit when I finish my responses on Market Friday. As always, I wish you a most wonderful week ahead!

Ooh the purple flower is stunning, I love the shade of it. The orange and red flower is like an explosion of colour too. Love the Fuschias at the end too. A hybrid, I thought you would be a Tesla lady I could just see you rocking up in a Model X and setting it into disco mode.

Oh, sir!!! Tesla is the car of choice here in the DC area with the lease program they provided. Now that it is going away, I am wondering how many there will be on the road next year. :)

I may have to trade up. :)

Kidding. They are cool, but, Iike Maserati better. Now, we are talking.

Haha! Always happy to see you! Have a great weekend!
