WHY NBA TEAM KEPT MAKING VERBAL AGREEMENT WITH PLAYERS?!?

I recalled a few years back Deandre Jordan publicly said
he is heading to Dallas Mavericks.
Later after he had been convinced by Clippers,
He changed his mind.
This is flip flop to the best.
Now he is playing for the Nets this season.

This time around we have another one.
Marcus Morris supposed to go to Spurs this fall.
It was again a verbal agreement to go play for them.
I am thinking that at this time of his life,
he does not want to be far away from home.

NBA players do travel a lot.
He will be far away from home anyways.
May be he likes the East Coast basket teams better.
He used to play for Celtics.
When he start his NBA career
he played for Rockets.
Knicks will be his fifth team this season.
Did you know he has an identical twin brother
in the NBA?
Just like the Curry brothers and many more.

I am surprised there is no rules about it.
It is not the first and it will not be the last.
On the other hand I do not witness a team doing it to a player.
One thing for sure if you do not fit their rotation
they will ship you pretty quick to another team.
Worst they can cut you.

If you dig deep about this the verbal and kinda drama
Rich Paul was the agent for him.
Rich Paul is good friend with king James.
Marcus had a deal on the table with Clippers that evaporated.
Spurs deal was in his mind the last resort.

It was said Rich Paul did not want
the Clippers deal to go through
to avoid Marcus playing against James.
It is absurd cause Rich will make
more money by helping sign with Clippers.
The deal was worth $40+ million.

Fortunately Knicks came up, so he signed with them.
Rich and Marcus split ways before he signed with Knicks.
Maybe Rich did not like the move away from Spurs.
They are a good organization to be part of.
Unfortunately not as strong in the time of Tony Parker
and Tim Duncan.
I am sure the Spurs record this year will be better than the Knicks.

Verbal agreement will state as is if the team is not capable of winning
a championship right away.
Popovich will find a replacement and life continue.
