Traveling Through Paintings #26

Come walk with me as we travel through the many paintings 😎

---Start This Journey Here---

One more time I laid my eyes on this scene, imprinting it on my memory so that I would not forget the wonder. But my heart knew that a true moment could not be kept as such, but is instead only experienced in the present when one watches and listens with all of one's senses and lives and vibrates with life itself to become that which is observed and so the self becomes quite selfless......

The early morning hours had passed and I was back on foot again. I discovered that the lake was much more extensive than I first thought, although I could not determine its true extent as I was walking along its shores and my view was often obstructed by the lush green foliage growing here. I could spot many different trees like beach, willow, birch, oak and alder, all intertwined with their various leaves and branches and their greens differed from one another, never taking on the same hue.

As I walked and explored the shoreline, I discovered a river flowing out of the lake. Curious about where it would lead I began to follow this stream which ever so gently flowed through this landscape. A river is quite different from a lake: a river is always in motion, in a state of movement as opposed to the great calm and depths of a lake. As I reflected on this my thoughts began to adapt to this different state as well; the depth and almost meditative nature of my thoughts began to flow with this river and I began to think about various things about the world.

It was not long (although I did not have a feeling for time) before my attention was taken away from my stream of thoughts when I again heard that buzzing sound which I had encountered the other night. There it was again: zzerrpp, zeeerrppp... I stopped and crouched a bit so that I would not be seen and patiently waited for a little while. And there, only 10 meters away, I could see the little thing: four short sturdy legs which carried its furry and long haired body towards the water. A small head protruded from its body without seemingly any neck which wiggled from side to side as it strolled through the undergrowth with its long tail sliding through the muddy earth.

Just as last night it was visible for only a very brief moment before it flowed into the waters. It must be an animal living both on land and in water I thought as I watched how the small ripples on the surface of the water spread out in its wake. As I watched the scenery I noticed that in the midst of it there was a small and very beautiful bridge connecting both riversides just ahead of where I stood. It was illuminated by small rays of sunlight which radiated through the thicket and just underneath it were the beautiful water lilies which I had also seen on the lake. The water was so still that I almost forgot that this was a river and I could see many fish swim through the crystal clear waters. Emerald greens and blacks and yellows shimmered through the water and I decided to walk over the bridge onto the other side.
