The work in progress of Daphne ^_^
Today I started the new painting inspired by the Greek myth of Daphne. Yesterday I sketched this subject using a simple black ink pen and if you read my post here you'll watch that first sketch and you can read more about Daphne too ^_^
It's an oil painting on a 200 gsm paper in A4 size and I started it working on the background (I used the Payne grey color, a shade of blue I love so much) and on the face of the figure:
After this first step, I added some highligh and shadows (but just a touch, because I'll work on them also at the end). I started to paint some plants around her head, to represent the moment while he was transformed in a plant:
I think I'll finish it tonight, so I can show you the final result soon. ^_^
God night to everyone and see ya soon,
Silvia

Thank you, thank you!
Thanks ^_^ Yes, the story of Daphne is sad, because to save her the father trasformed her in a plant, but the Greek mythology is so interesting .
Yes, Greek mythology is absolutely fantastic. I admit that I have not read much lately, but I am pleased to remember their legends.

Had to check the myth since this was the first time hearing about it, greek mythology really is the best mythology, with so much complexity and details, between all the mythologies greek, is probably one of my favorites... Probably from watching too much Hercules when I was a kid xD
