A rainy Saturday (oil painting on paper)

(Edited)

Happy Saturday to you all! Today it's a rainy day here and everything looks so gray all around. After the lunch, I thought to paint something to spend a bit of time doing something I like to do and so I decided to paint one of my character in a rainy day.

As you know I love to paint my characters portraiting them in half-lenghth, but today I feel the need to work on a entire figure (feeth included ^_^) and so here she is:

It's an oil painting on a sheet of 200 gsm paper in A4 size and I took a couple of pics to show you the work in progress too:

I'm always intrigued by the yellow raincoats, but this is the first time I painted one of them and I like the result ^_^

I hope you like this new artworks and I hope you're spending this Sunday in a nice way. ^_^

See ya soon and steem on,

Silvia

I recognise that leaf design from an earlier piece of yours! I do love your artistic style.

We always called those yellow raincoats "slickers." Love your painting... big hugs from me, Bruno and Monna (who's getting really fat)

Slickers, thanks for the info, dear Rich. Here in Italy we don't use a name just for this kind of raincoats, but just "impermeabile" , that's the word for "raincoat" and for the adjective "water proof" ^_^ Warm hugs to you all <3

They used to make them of oilcloth and paint it with shellac, that's why they were "slick."

A yellow raincoat works. You definitely have a style to your painting that is your signature. Thanks Silvia
