Sunday Sketch Practice (Again)

After watching another artist's video where he was showing his 100 day head / portrait sketches challenge, it motivated me to again make an effort to similarly make a regular (daily) habit of drawing.

As drawing is the foundation of painting, the more tine I put into drawing, will bring more progress with my painting.

Why?

  1. Shape, Form, Proportion, Perspective, all leading to accuracy
  2. Vales, the mastery of light and shadow

Values do all of the work, but colour gets all of the credit.

More sketches to come. Let's see where this takes me.

graphite pencil on paper.

Do you ever struggle to work out what you should be doing daily and what things can be done with a lower frequency? Sometimes when I read about all the things I "should" be doing daily I swear it's the equivalent of three full days unless you literally don't do anything else xD

For the most part, there are many things I ignore, which sometimes comes back to bite me on the arse. It really comes down to eliminated ALL distractions. At the moment, I have a few to put an end to.
