Slaughterhouse Angel (2019) A Drawing

Slaughterhouse Angel
2019
pen on paper
Jaundré van Breda

I present to you another ballpoint pen illustration on A3 paper. I like this one for its unique concept. It features a nude figure in a slaughterhouse with chunks of meat hanging from hooks attached to the ceiling.

This drawing was initially for a client who wanted to use it as the cover art for a book. Unfortunately he changed his mind.

I hope you like this one.

Hello Hello!

The strokes are spectacular, I love how you made your hook, it looks more real :)

Good drawing. I don't know if I'm wrong but it has a certain cubist influence. Can be? A cordial greeting @jmvanbreda

I can see why you notice a cubist influence, but this is more inspired by the work of Francis Bacon. Thank you very much for the support, and greetings from South Africa.

ehy dear @jmvanbreda, a rather strong image, why did you feel the need to send an angel to the slaughterhouse? and why is the angel a woman? congratulations on your curie vote and thanks for sharing it with us !!

Hi @road2horizon

I think really interesting art is that which makes one question the content.

Anyway, maybe it was a tragedy that sent her to the slaughterhouse. Or even the butcher's guardian angel. I think whether it's a woman or a man is of no consequence.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. :)
