Slow Progress on My Charcoal Drawing

My goal this quarter in my charcoal drawing class, is to take more time with my drawings. Some of my classmates spend several weeks on one drawing and their work is phenomenal. I on the other hand try to finish up my drawings in one or two class periods. My classes are two hours long and my drawings reflect my lack of patience.

Today I took my time with my sketch of my drawing and the only thing that I was able to accomplish was the part where I transfer the pencil sketch to the hard charcoal lines.

I did not work on shading at all today because I did not want to get started and have to leave in the middle of the process. Next week I will work on getting the right colors and shading for my drawing.
