All concepts, new artwork and hey, first chapter of the book:)

Hi, guys!

Yesterday I said that I started creating a new drawing, and described difficulties that I met on my way. It was really a relief that when I looked at it in the morning it was not so bad as I expected, cause you know, the thing usually happens to artists is that in the evening everything looks fine and great, but than in the morning when you look at what you've created you feel shocked. Like "How I could not notice that everything went wrong?".

Well, this was not the case. I looked at it in the morning and understood, that I only have some spots to fix left, and everything looks just fine, and it's almost ready to be published (you can follow my Instagram @inber_art if you want to see more of my artworks).

I work with Procreate app, and to tell the truth I feel super guilty about my Wacom Cintique. I remember that when I bought it, after my Wacom Intuos, I was super happy and it felt like I changed a bike to a rocket. But time went on, I bought my first iPad (you know, the one that was the first in the line not-pro, but with support of a pencil, many artists did that when that model appeared), and I felt that convenience of ability to draw wherever I want. I was really huge step forward, and I started drawing on iPad more and more, and less on Cintique. At the moment I have a situation: recently my harddrive died, and I had to re-install all the system, and... Month has passed, and I still didn't connect my Cintique. Sometimes I remember about it, and want to download the drivers, but each time I think "OK, next time". So it's still not even connected and I'm not sure if I need it anymore.

But let's get back to my recent artwork. As I said before this time I drew my own character, the one I myself play in our DnD campaign for last two years. His name is Demian, and he's a so-called dark elf (still not drow). He has a quite tragic backstory. He has a natural gift of necromancy, he can bring dead back to live (under sertain conditions). And that's what he did for his mother when she died while giving birth to his sister.

After he did it whole elvish kingdom hated him, he was convicted as a dark wizard and for three long months he was tortured in the light temple, where they tried to make him loose his "dark" ability, couldn't do that, but nearly killed him. Afterwards he was banished from the kingdom and had to survive on his own. He found a teacher, necromancer, who helped him to develop his gift, but at the same time gave him a curse, that works in a tricky way. He can't stand light temples or light priests, feels really bad in their presence. But when it comes to sources of dark energy he can absorb them and make really powerful magic.

He joined the other adventurers when his teacher disappeared, and he went looking for him, cause this source of magical knowledge was still not taken to the last drop.

So, here I can finally share his portrait:

This is where I went so far with creating concept art of the main characters. So, I have Lars:

A full party picture, may be it will be a cover of my comic book:

Jane, our youngest:

And Demian, whom I already showed.

By the way these are not my first attempts to draw all the characters. The story started long ago, and exactly my character was the one who made me master the portrait art. I was desperate to draw him, but had lack of skill. Now I'm less or more ready. But still I started with markers art, and they were different from what I'm creating at the moment.

And today I finally got to the point where I want to start publishing here parts of my book. I'll use Google translate, and hope it will be less or more OK:)

"Gusts of wind tore the sails of a small boat, which had been battling the waves of the north sea for a week.

At the helm stood a young tiefling, skin red in the sun. A sailor's cocked hat wore a hornless head. Felix enjoyed every moment of the journey, and the rank of captain even more so. From time to time he scanned the companions with a stern gaze, hinting that he sees and controls everything. Some took it seriously, some amused it. There was no crew as such, only another man, clearly versed in nautical affairs, was tying ship ropes nearby.

The company gathered on the ship would have seemed strange to any normal person. Dwarf, clad in heavy armor, selflessly shared with the fish overboard with the contents of his stomach. The red beard was already soaked all over with salt and turned white, Berez this journey was not easy.

In the crow's nest, a girl pulled into a purple overalls, whose features and pointed fangs betrayed orcish blood, settled in her. Jane gazed intently at the endless horizon in search of land, periodically throwing back the black scythe, which the wind stubbornly threw in her face.

A huge eagle circled over the ship, from time to time diluting the sound of the waves with shouts. After an hour, this eagle will descend, fly up to the deck, envelop itself in a gray haze, and the foot of a man, tall, with brown hair pulled into a tail, with arms covered with tattoos and runes to the elbow, and strange eyes, will step aboard. Lars has one human eye, the other a wolf.

Two more stood at the stern of the bulwarks, at a decent distance from each other. A half-elf in baggy clothes, with a bow over his shoulder, counted the seagulls and each time got a different number. This did not bother Mark, in general he was not embarrassed by much in this life. He only wondered if he had boarded the ship and glanced suspiciously at the tall elf standing on the other side of the stern.

He looked distractedly into the distance, thinking about something of his own. The wind ruffled his short-cropped black hair, fluttering the hem of his long black cloak. Damian had no questions about whether this was the ship. Is that the right company - yes.

The half-elf's suspiciously contemptuous gaze was not a secret for him, blue eyes noticed every little thing, constant vigilance had long become a habit. But for some reason this look was familiar to the magician for another reason - the silvery-lilac irises of the eyes. Heterochromia looked like splinters, or blossoming buds of unknown flowers around a black pupil.

The journey went quite smoothly, despite the fact that the sea was now rough, as were the people who lived in the surrounding lands.

Either way, the voyage took too long for some, especially for a dwarf who grumbled to himself about land and damn ships from the depths of the Abyss.

Felix decided it was time to moor somewhere and replenish supplies, food on the ship was running out.

The village in which they landed smelled through and through of fish. Hungry travelers hoped to find an inn, at worst, a tavern, and after only an hour of searching, luck smiled at them. Mark immediately began to flirt with the pretty hostess".

So, first chapter part here:)

See you in the next post!
Love, Inber
