The Stars are right. Handcut collage 50/50cm.
This is a handut collage i created some years ago as a gift for a friend's wedding. I was working a lot with vintage photos back then and wanted to create a simple composition yet striking in symbolism and idea. I used Mars and Earth for the two planets/heads, guess i should have used Mars and Venus but they both look so much alike as image that people would confuse them. Also Earth was a better choice because it had more white and was looking good with the body.I like to combine black and white with colour and so for the background i chose a nice nebula image and created a mirror effect to bring balance to the artwork.

Even if you put aside that I like the space theme)), this retro-collage is great. He conveys to the viewer the atmosphere of triumph, the emotions of the young couple and the feelings of the one who spent his time and talent in order to put together these photographs.

That reminds me the quote_ Woman from Venus and Men from Mars. But in your case you decided to choose more soft, green planet Earth for women. It is nice collage with its romance. Like the man's suit.
Yes i had that in mind also when i started it, but the contrast in image was not high enough,lol. Earth had those beautiful clouds and was loking so full of life:) I am happy that you like it Stef:)

i love the surreal almost "twilight zone" feel to this. the cloud swirls look like hair, alluding to the fact that earth might be a dumb but beautiful blonde bombshell..
I was really wondering if i had to mention that the body was from a Marilyn Monroe photo, but you spotted it,lol. I agree with you and i like your view, lets hopw that mars will be more serious and not advantage of her:)

this is soo good. i have always loved collage art, i even dabbled with it myself a while ago. It is quite difficult to do it manually. How do you do it?
I am really happy that you like it:) It is not so hard but each artwork needs a lot of planning before you glue all the pieces together. I do it manually, using prints about 120gr, cut with scissors and then i glue them on a black hardboard with a stick glue. The result is clean and nice:)
