Hello Steemians.
I would like to share some tips to becoming an outstanding animal artist. Personally, I think I'm still on the journey to perfection but I think sharing the little knowledge I have would go along way for others. Drawing of animals with pencils can be quite challenging for most of us, but with continuous practice and dedication, we can overcome that challenge and create animal drawings that are exceptional.
I wouldn't want to bore you with many talks so here are my tips I have to offer.

• PAY ATTENTION TO SHAPES;

All animals have their unique shape and those shapes differ from one specie to another. A lion can be a long and slim, a snake can be short, a cat's head differs from that of a zebra...lol..Pardon my comparison but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here. For a successful drawing of an animal, you just have to get those shapes right.

• PAY ATTENTION TO POSTURE;

There are certain postures associated with different animals from reptiles, mammals, amphibians e.t.c. There are some postures that can tell which animal is which even in the dark so you have to take note of those unique postures as you draw.

• PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS;

This is a stage I'm also currently working on. This is a very critical stage for realistic drawings and widely considered as the most important part of realistic drawings. Paying attention to details entails all areas of the animals body from it's eyes, to it's paws, scales, skin, hair, nose, whiskers, mouth, tail e.t.c . The key to a detailed work is just the right tools and enormous time. So if you're willing to provide these, then you're good to go.

These are just my major tips for anyone who would love to try out animal drawings.
Thanks for reading. I wish you the very best in all endeavors. Bye for now.
