I suppose if you're going to spill something at all, best to do as little as damage as possible.

Of that I can personally attest, since I managed to scald myself with some soup once. Luckily, no permanent damage, but it did burn my skin and make it peel like a sunburn.

Glad the laptop and passport made it out unscathed. :)
