We’ll usually stomp along places where snakes might be so they have plenty of warning to move away from us so we can all merrily avoid each other. Does that work for those? 😆

That'd work...Scare the bejeezus out of them so they bugger off...Unless you stomp on one...Then you might be in a spot of trouble. I don't think WA has the Eastern Brown but you'd certainly have something similar. Making some noise is a good option generally. Sturdy boots, long pants or gaiters and not putting your foot down unless you can see where it's going is a good idea too. Stepping over fallen logs without knowing what's on the others side is a nice way to ensure you get bit. It's just common sense I suppose.
