Wet squirrel morning!

014.jpg

"Say cuzzy, it's raining and would you have a nut by any chance for a wet soul?"

Yes, this is now day three of the "black storm" and everything is wet all over the place. I had to take our car out from under the carport and left it to stand overnight in the rain, as the carport roof was threatening to cave in. The fear was that it might hail and the car would be damaged.
Thankfully it didn't hail and the car is wet, but okay.
Come and have a look at our wild pets this morning.

So, I opened a window and gave her a nut.

But I didn't make it easy and she had to fight me for the nut.

Did I tell you that it was very wet here this morning? This is the smallest of our 5 squirrels and her name is "Baby".

Then tell me, why would a Thrush be bathing when it's raining?

Oh yes, it's wet here but thankfully we haven't suffered any damages in our area. I have twittered a damage report about the storm, this morning and many other towns were flooded and roofs and windows were damaged by huge hailstones.
Such is life!

And That's All Friends

What beautiful photos, "Baby" looks friendly, I see you love to stop by for a visit, the thrush bird is really enjoying his bath. 😁

Thank you kindly and yes, we have 5 new squirrels here and all of them are hungry.
The Thrush was a strangely taking a bath in the rain.

You have been lucky my friend, after the things you have told me about your storms I believe you are living at the right place now.
And you have the nicest neighbors, although they cost you a lot of nuts 😉

Thank you kindly Hannes,

Yes, we were lucky to escape most of the drama. The last time that this town flooded was in 2005, but they have since built proper storm water channels and holding pens for the flood waters off the mountains and it seems to do a very good job.

Hahaha, yeah and the great thing is that they will breed here every year, as it is their safe place.

Cheers and thanks.

(Edited)

We also had quite a bit of rain last week, quite unreasonable for this time of the year but the sun is out in full force today:) thank goodness you didn't have any damage!

Joan told me about the weather that side and our dams this side got plenty of water. I just cannot understand why certain areas are still in the drought. Thankfully some of our farmers have bonus crops and they are helping the farmers in the dry areas,

There are so many unemployed people in this country and I don't know why the state can't set up farms in the wet areas so that the crops can be distribubet to the dray areas. Like hay and such for livestock. But then again, who's going to manage the farms without stealing?

Blessings and !BEER
