"Stompie" the Squirrel.

340.jpg

This happy one is the cutest little thing that you will ever see.

"Stompie" is a slang word for a cigarrette butt.

And yes, her tail is gone, maybe bitten off in a fight, or a car trapped it, or a raptor lost out on a meal, but for some reason her tail is gone. But she has learned to live with it and her life goes on, as she has overcome the disability. A lesson to us with our aches and pains methinks.

Not perturbed anymore about the missing tail she forages for a nut.

Found something that tastes nice and very happy with the find.

Cuteness overload while she ate away at her find.

Done and now it was scouting the area for more to eat.

Finally she was off into the bush and we hoped that she would find many more treats.

Amazing how animals can overcome their disabilities in nature with no medical treatment. I have seen an ape with only one arm also doing his thing in nature and we often see birds with one or both feet gone, hopping around on their stumps.
The human design is such that we can also overcome most disabillities and lead a normal productive life.
It always inspires me when I see something like this, knowing that there is always hope freely available to each of us, be it in regards to our bodies, or for better things in life.
Overcoming is the name of the game.

And That's All Friends.

She most definitely doesn't look like she is bothered about the tail, a thing of the past, living in the moment. Good lesson to us all!
