A cold wet day in Milford Sound. Technically a fjord created from glaciation during the last ice age, it is located in the south west of New Zealand's South Island, within Fiordland National Park. It has one of the worlds highest mean annual rainfalls of 6,412 mm (252 in). Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site, New Zealand

How great is Milford Sound! We were there October last year, took the road feom Te Anau which also has some amazing places along the way. We had a beautiful day for the cruise, no rain, some blue skies was a really great day. Of course, I didnt get any photos this good. 🙂

It is certainly a beautiful spot and we had a great day cruising around. The drive from Te Anau is pretty cool too, a bit dangerous in places with about 17 kilometres of avalanche-zone and some snow but we got lucky. Often the road gets closed to do the snow however we were fortunate enough to get through. The drive takes a few hours but we stopped a lot so much longer.
