Holiday misadventures (My Actifit Report Card: December 27 2019)

When we got up this morning we decided we didn’t fancy going for a simulated hike today. Instead we decided to walk into town (carrying only about 6 kgs) for some lunch and to buy a GoPro Hero 7 Black (enjoyed watching some of @romafedorov’s videos to help decide us what action camera to buy). mrshill and I spent very little on Christmas presents for each other this year because we knew we wanted to buy this camera and also we had already spent a lot on our holiday in January!! I’m sure this camera will get plenty of use down in Tassie!

We did a bit of DIY in the van (added a little strip of wood to the shelf above the fridge to stop the pull-out table from moving around whilst stowed away) first up - this took longer than expected so by the time we got in to town lunch was the main priority. We decided on ‘Flyover Fritterie’. We first tried some of their food at the Night Noodle Market a couple of months ago. Their fritters are super-yummy! This place is literally a hole in the wall in a random back-alley.

The air-conditioning units give it that authentic random back-alley vibe!!

There’s another hole in-the-wall eating option just out-of-shot that does great melts and coffee. We also got a triple-cheese melt to share to go with our fritters. Yum!

Look out! Flying cup!

After that it was on to JB HiFi to purchase the GoPro. Alas, they were out of stock of the bundle that included a tripod, memory card and extra battery. So we ended up getting one from Harvey Norman online for click & collect from Bondi Junction. So instead of walking home from town we got the train to BJ to collect the camera and walked home from there. This meant we did quite a bit of walking on the day we decided against an extended walk!

After we got home I went out for a 6.16 kms run. The app I use to track my running activity recently released an update and now the running route, distance and time don’t fit on my iPhone 6s screen for me to take a screenshot to upload to steem to show off my running achievements. Silly over-sized fonts! Sigh. First world problems! Just thinking about this gives me flashbacks to the days when my worst nightmare was having to optimise websites so that they looked pretty on IE6 - even when the browser was more than 10 years old! F$%@!!!!
