My Actifit Report Card: October 4 2019

We went out to eat a a Mexican restaurant tonight and the open sign looked kind of interesting against the dark sky:

Some of the last raspberries are still ripening in the yard. They are not that tasty anymore but it makes a nice spot of red on an otherwise rainy gray day:

These berries are finally ripening up. They are not that sweet but I like them in the morning with my cereal:

These vines started growing by themselves from the compost. I'm not sure what they are but I don't think they are going to produce much before the season ends. They are still in good shape though.

I kept looking for something growing on the vines and notice this little tiny round white thing. It looks a lot like some of the mushrooms that grow around here so that is what I thought it was.

After closer inspection of the photographic evidence, I'm thinking now that it might be an old egg shell.

Reality is somewhere between what you think it is and what you think it isn't. Lol.

Crypto news

I made another successful trade with AtomicDEX and I am really starting to like the application. I wish there was a better way to see all the orders and view some charting. Maybe there will be a web application that helps with that someday.

Coinbase is increasing their fees. Fair enough - I would guess they need to pay for a lot of employees and a facility with executives that are used to a fair degree of compensation.

Centralized exchanges like Coinbase are always going to be targets for theft so they do need to keep spending lots to make sure things are secure.

I'm thinking that decentralized exchanges are going to be more efficient and less of a target for theft. I might test out how well I can trade BTC for some kind of pegged dollar coins and move cash out into my savings account.

It looks like USDC and BTC are traded on AtomicDEX so maybe that might work if I can setup an account with Circle that will move the USDC funds into my savings account.

Wish me luck - sometimes I get cold feet when trying to deal with these things and find other more interesting things to spend my time on. Especially since I have an already working system using Coinbase.

Actifit steps:

It was another rainy day today with some occasional light patches of less rain. Gentle misty rain is pretty typical around here.

During a rain break I rode my ebike down to the park and did some disc golfing. I only took two discs this time, my Wriath disc and Magic putter. (I don't usually use those two discs much so I wanted to practice more with them.)

I ended up scoring my usual score of two over par for the nine basket course.

I'm usually carrying around about a dozen different specialized discs and a rag for wiping off the water. I guess those things don't change my score much. They are fun to have along though. After today's experience it seems like it is really not so much about what your plastic discs can do for you as much as what you can do with your plastic discs that counts. :D

Since it was pretty rainy today and I still had a lot of energy I paced around in the house for some time to get the 10K steps.
