My Actifit Report Card: September 27 2019

It was raining and cooler most of the morning. This afternoon it got sunny for just a bit so I went out and played disc golf at the larger course in town.

It is a nice short ebike ride to this 18 basket course.

I like this course, it is challenging and fun but there are often some rather interesting folks in the park. It just does not have that good a feel.

Two of the baskets were vandalized with several of the chains hanging down under the basket. There were a couple of kids hitting one of the baskets with some clubs and no parents in sight.

I suppose if I wanted to me mean I could have walked over and read them the riot act and threatened to call the cops on them or something. :D I doubt they were the ones that initially did the vandalizing though, they were much too young to do any real damage. I'm not sure what good if any, it would have done to try and scare such young children.

Still it makes me sad to see the new baskets and tee pads in such shape.

I often see garbage left piled in the park too. The city workers have been doing a good job of cleaning most of it up but it is still an issue.

The people there seem friendly enough. One person kept trying to ask me a question but nothing but word salad came out. I'm not sure what he wanted but I finally had to excuse myself because I was a bit underdressed and was getting cold just standing there. When you are working out there is often a balance where your activity keeps you comfortable but when you stop your sweat can make you too cold.

I tend to have trouble if I get too cold for too long and can get cramps.

One the way back I took this picture of the sun starting to set by the river:

In some ways I'm wishing for some more cameras everywhere. Kind of the "Big Brother is Watching You" society where all the good people are taken care of and people keep their hands off the disc golf baskets, lol.

I know, how about: per government regulation, access to the park shall only be granted to people by facial recognition software. If something goes wrong, review the camera tapes. Any vandalizim shall be paid from a fine of Steem Power or loss of access to free government benefits such as free cheese. (For those who have no Steem Power) A lack of free cheese is sure to change everyone's behaviour.

If you don't pay the fine, you can't get back in the park or your free government cheese.

World problems solved! Woo hoo. :^) LOL.

Yes I know, so many things could go wrong with this. Maybe someday AI would be up to doing something like real time monitoring of video and that might be helpful. I'm not sure at what point we will be willing to relinquish our privacy for security.

Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S9+. Text and graphics copyright lightsplasher & litesplasher.

It is sad that people vandalized the disc golf course. It was smart to not confront the kids since they had clubs.

I'm not sure at what point we will be willing to relinquish our privacy for security.

I think we already did... China and the UK have close circuit cameras that records everyone and that can track people everywhere, and I've seen some other countries doing the same and people shutting up. And let's be honest, we all carry our cellphones with the GPS, wi-fi or data turned on, which can easily track a person everywhere, there is no more privacy, the only question left is... did we get security in return? I think not :/

You should check out the Carbon system VeChain is developing, they are doing something similar to what you want, the only difference is that people are given $ for doing tasks like driving eco friendly cars, for throwing our the garbage, for recycling,etc...etc... all recorded with blockchain

What has happened to the litterbug commercial? I used to sing it when I was a kid and was so appalled to see anyone littering! It used to be a big fine to be caught doing that in the Northeast. It did stop a lot of it.

If these kids are young, I have to wonder where their parents are. If they are not so young, I wonder if the parents even know where they are and what they are doing. All these things come down to the parents and the things we instill in our kids. Not all will be listened to, but, if you are doing proper bonding and using those parenting skills, surely some of it will rub off. No?

There has got to be a nice balance between the Big Brother and nothing at all.

When you figure it out, I hope you share it with me. Littering, vandalism and kids on the loose are quite disturbing. Well, annoying at least!

I hope you are having a great weekend!
