It’s been a long day. I am getting better at turning out pieces on the pottery wheel. Today I worked on using a Giffin grip. It helps to center the pottery piece without having to manually “tap” center the piece on the wheel for trimming.
I would love to have one in my home studio, but they are close to $200 to purchase. I have been looking online trying to find a used one with no success.
A giffin grip saves a lot of time and I was able to trim three pieces in my intermediate pottery class. My teacher showed us how to make a bud vase which is a precursor for making a spout on a teapot. I will try to make a spout this weekend for my teapot.
It is very cold here today so I came home and started a big pot of chicken soup for dinner. My house is filled with the aroma of chicken soup.
After I finish eating dinner, I think that I will relax and start reading my new knitting book.
Enjoy your evening.
