Life transitions and family togetherness - Actifit: August 19 2019
Hi guys! Hope you all had a wonderful day, and if you are an #Actifit member, I hope you achieved your step goal.
I just barely made it over the finish line to 10k steps. My biggest activity of the day was shopping for storage bins with my daughter who is heading to college this coming week.
There is so much going on right now it makes my head spin. I’m trying to just take things one day at a time. My older daughter is home for a couple of weeks, and then there’s the one leaving for college, and my son is just about to start a new job. We are simultaneously trying to manage all the change and act as if this is normal. As if kids just grow up and move on all the time. And we seem to be endlessly moving boxes and bins of belongings around as one daughter waits to move into her next apartment, and the other one gets ready to move into a dorm.
I guess it’s no wonder that I have pretty much had to take the summer off of writing and really doing anything productive and interesting on Steem. I keep feeling very out of sorts, like I’ve lost something, and I’m just hoping it will eventually turn up. But I don’t seem to be able to sit down and focus. There is almost no time, and when there is I need to get outside, breathe the fresh air and move.
Well that’s all I have today. Except that the miracle happened that we put some stuff on the grill and then all sat down and had dinner together. It has been such a busy summer with all of us going every which way that I think it may have been the first time we all had dinner together all summer!

Sigh. With the kids growing up, it’s not going to get any better. But perhaps I will get my writing routine back. There is always s silver lining!

Nice family and great effort.! I wonder how do you complete 10k steps because I have experienced that actifit app sometimes missed many of my steps.

I just got back from visiting some family. It was nice again to have a sit down dinner with the whole family plus some extra people. Sometimes you just have to enjoy those little moments as they start to become less frequent in life.
My parents always love getting boxes out of the house. More room for their own stuff and new hobbies! Always interesting how much stuff people accumulate over the years.
