Getting Fit for Steem Fest with Actifit and Blocktrades: August 17 2019
Today was one of those perfect summer days, where weather is concerned. I got to sit out on the porch with my daughter and enjoy some fresh air in the shade. We had just come back from visiting my nephew in the hospital, and just needed to sit, to breathe, to be thankful that he is alive, and to be thankful for everything, really — butterflies and sky, green grass, trees, that first cup of coffee in the morning, and fresh cotton shirts straight out of the dryer. Am I crazy for thinking that introspection about mortality and an appreciation for the small things are heightened and at their peak when someone is injured or has a brush with death? In the evening, my husband and our older daughter and I went walking on our favorite trail out to the marina. The evening was stunning — the perfect temperature that almost calls for a sweater and beautiful evening light that is slanting toward fall.
I got some shots tonight that I am particularly pleased with.

Hey there, wonderful climate that even in winter we are celebrating in the sun. What better free treasures could one need?
I celebrate the sun whenever I see it. Here when the sun comes out in winter it shines on bright white snow and it's very uplifting!
Great shots from your walk. Glad your nephew is okay. Nothing like being reminded how precious life is when something like this happens.
It is an important reminder indeed.

@jayna - you did capture some great photos of your family and the marina! I'm sending you nephew healing thoughts and prayers, and strength to all the family members standing vigil. It's so hard to watch a loved one going through a hospital stay.
You had a great count today, enjoy that perfect weather, not many days fit those criteria.
