Let’s Watch with Travelgirl #13 - Under the Canopy of Love | 天幕下的戀人

Hi Everyone,

I remember watching this TV series when I was still in uni and I actually saw it twice because at that the time thought it was one of those fairytale stories. Set at a shopping centre, Alan played by Kevin Cheng was an executive at the shopping centre and bumped into Fiona played by Niki Chow who is a jewellery store owner at the centre. The business was not going well for Fiona and Kevin was not happy with his job due to a boss who doesn’t like his work.

Alan and Fiona form a friendship while seeing each other occasionally at the shopping centre while they are at work. While Alan has a tough time through office hours, Fiona who is a patient listener will help Alan through the hard times. Then Ah Lik played by Bosco Wong came along where he met Alan at the gym and became good friends. He later on got introduced to Fiona and eventually falling for her.

On the other hand, Alan got a new boss and Alan’s work was recognised and was moving up the ranks. His boss Karen plays by Claire Yiu had a crush on Alan but unfortunately, Alan began to have feelings for Fiona. Just like a typical love story, the two main characters Kevin & Fiona would end up together leaving the two others heartbroken.

The series was a success while making Kevin Cheng a popular actor in Hong Kong at the time. The storyline was very straight forward and basically you would know the ending by watching the second episode. What makes people want to watch this in particular females, at that time, Kevin’s character was very positive when he came to a roadblock, he was always wearing smart outfits and of course his looks helped a lot. The theme song 請講 was a duet sung by Kevin and Niki which was very popular at the time which made this series a very successful one that year.

大家好，當時看這套電視劇還在大學，記得播的時候都受歡迎因為當時很少這類的愛情故事. 故事圍繞在朗豪坊商場，鄭嘉穎是該商場的主管但他的上司不是太喜歡他所以他做的非常不開心. 期間在商場認識開首席店的周勵淇，慢慢變成朋友. 鄭嘉穎在健身房認識了黃宗澤然後得知他在同一個商場做保安員. 他們三個人之間有不同的故事但最後，鄭嘉穎和周勵淇會變成情侶. 當時這個沒有類似的題材所以得播的時候都受歡迎. 主題曲 ‘請講“ 也在電視上常播所以你可以想像到當時有多受歡迎.
