Divine Fury 2019(Movie review) - Not all that but...

Divine Fury is infact the first "horror" Korean movie I've ever seen. It is a 2019 South Korean action and horror film written and directed by Kim Joo-hwan. It stars Park Seo-joon, Ahn Sung-ki and Woo Do-hwan.

It all began with a small boy loosing his Dad in an accident - his only surviving parent, the incident made him so angry that he abandoned his Christian faith and committed the rest of his life to fighting which got him into kick boxing. He was apparently angry with God for not saving his father. When he became an adult, a mysterious scar appeared on his hand that bled severally, causing him a lot of discomfort, but even after seeking many solutions from the hospital, the wound refused to be healed. He then visited the Priest of the Church where he grew up and got to realise that he had been chosen to be a special tool against evil forces and the wound on his hand was more than just a scar.

I found the movie interesting because its not everyday one gets to see a Christian Korean movie, the storyline emphasised on belief and faith in God and how holding anger in our hearts can be very detriment to our being leading to all sorts of unforseen ailments and evil. I was extremely surprised when they began exorcising evil spirits with verses from the scripture and performing the exorcism with almost the same level of professionalism from non Korean type of movies.

The reason why I think some people will find it boring is because the storyline is too streamlined, not much happened in the movie as the scenes were all short like a 20 paged story book.

It also got to the part where I became curious about how the battles were going to be fought but I wasn't too disappointed, it was basically a show of good against evil, and we all kind of know how that ends, good wins, at least in movies, most of the time.
You will enjoy this movie if you like Korean movies and if you also like "horror" mixed with kick boxing, and no it wasn't about boxing the evil spirits, but the evil boss. It is entertaining and you'd love you watched it.
