America First In Europe

I haven't got much to say today, so I thank the Lord for Donald Trump. For comedians and bloggers alike, it's nice to have a president, even an ex-president, that's so easy to make fun of.

Trump's presidency was a tragedy. It's quite an accomplishment to rank among the worst presidents in almost every poll or historical listings, so I guess he at least has that. There's one list in particular I'd like to highlight here, and that's The 10 Worst U.S. Presidents on USNews.com. They took the average scores from C-SPAN's 2021 Presidential Historians Survey, Siena College's Presidential Expert Poll and the Presidential Greatness Rankings conducted by professors at the University of Houston and Boise State University. On that list, Trump ranks as the second worst president in the entire history of the United States. But what's remarkable, and what cements Trump's position at the top of listings of modern, post WW2 history, is that all the other presidents were born between Feb.9 1773 (William Henry Harrison) and Aug. 10, 1874 (Herbert Hoover). He ranks worse than Nixon even.

Trump's election to office was big news all over the world, also here in The Netherlands and the rest of the EU. While Trump seemed quite popular early on among millions of Americans, over here we saw what a clown he is, and frankly how dangerous he is. So one of our comedy shows, in a format much like "The Daily Show" or "Last Week Tonight" made a spoof introductory video of our country. After we made one, soon other European countries followed up with their own version of it, and I'll share some of them here for your viewing pleasure. It's called "America First, The Netherlands Second," and you can fill in the names of the other European countries that followed suit with their own. And some of them, I must admit, are better than ours. Have fun!
