Cada día nos da la oportunidad de aprovechar momentos para crear, para conectarnos con nuestro universo interno que infinitamente creativo.

When I was active as a preschool teacher for almost 20 years I discovered that artistic expression is infinite, with my students I had to have a range of many possibilities to offer them in those moments when it was time to experiment with color.

Thus I learned many art techniques to work with children but that can be enjoyed by adults as well, in those moments when we want to connect with the magic of childhood.

Cuando estaba activa como maestra de preescolar por casi 20 años descubrí que la expresión artística es infinita, con mis alumnos tenía que tener una gama de muchas posibilidades para ofrecerles en los momentos que tocaba experimentar con el color.

Así aprendí muchas técnicas de arte para trabajar con niños pero que pueden ser disfrutables por los adultos también, en esos momentos en que deseamos conectarnos con la magia de la niñez.

Then I took my acrylic paints and to relax a little I decided to create a butterfly applying the symmetrical stain technique, it seems something simple, but the way the colors are mixed, the feeling of uncertainty and surprise for the result are what make these moments magical.

Entonces tomé mis pinturas acrílicas y para relajarme un poco decidí crear una mariposa aplicando la técnica de mancha simétrica, parece algo sencillo, pero la forma en que se mezclan los colores, la sensación de incertidumbre y sorpresa por el resultado son lo que hacen mágico estos momentos.

I will tell you how the process went

Te cuento como fue el proceso

First I looked for all my materials, a color sheet, markers, a brush that I didn't use in the end, the acrylic paints.

Primero busqué todos mis materiales, una hoja de color, marcadores, un pincel que al final no usé, las pinturas acrílicas.

Then I folded the sheet in half and traced in marker a shape of what I wanted my butterfly to look like.

Luego doblé la hoja por la mitad y realicé en marcador un forma de como quería que quedará mi mariposa.

Then inside the shape of the butterfly, but on one side only, I applied dots of acrylic paint in the colors that I liked the most at that moment, here the theme is to enjoy and let yourself flow.

Luego dentro de la forma de la mariposa , pero en un solo lado apliqué puntos de pintura acrílica de los colores que más me gustaron en ese momento, aquí el tema es disfrutar y dejarse fluir.

Then we fold the sheet and make the paint reach the other side.

Luego doblamos la hoja y hacemos que la pintura llegue al otro lado.

With my finger, making horizontal movements, I felt how the paint spread and mixed on the folded sheet, this is one of the moments I like the most.

Con el dedo, haciendo movimientos horizontales fui sintiendo como la pintura se esparcía y se mezclaba en la hoja plegada, este es uno de los momentos que más me gusta.

Here comes the climax, the surprise, where we separate the leaves and in a magical way the shape we created with this mixture of incredible colors emerges.

Aquí viene el momento clímax, la sorpresa, donde separamos las hojas y de forma mágica va surgiendo la forma que creamos con esa mezcla de colores increíbles.

And then WOW, a beautiful colorful butterfly in front of me, I really liked how the final result turned out.

Y entonces WOW, una hermosa mariposa de colores ante mí, me gustó mucho como quedó el resultado final.
