Take Advantage Of The Rain To Plant Chilies And Eggplants

The rainy season is the right time for farming, here we call it "farming season" because farmers will find it easier to care for their crops when the rainy season arrives. As we know, drought or the dry season is what any farmer fears most. So people take advantage of the rainy season to water their plants, apart from saving costs this will also save energy.

After being away from the Hive for a long time, I spent time being a farmer. Apart from being a hobby, farming is also an alternative when the economy starts to decline. In Indonesia, currently the price of chilies has soared to $7 more than the normal price of only around $2 per kilogram.

Because of this, many people take the initiative to plant it themselves. Apart from meeting kitchen needs, this can also take advantage of empty land around the house so that weeds do not grow. Currently I am trying to plant cayenne pepper and eggplant.

I already have chili plants that can be harvested, even if only a little, at least the red chilies can be used as seeds for sowing again. Of course the results are not significant considering that I planted them with simple and simple methods and care. If you want to make money, of course this will also require a lot of capital and a very large area of land. Not a few people have succeeded in earning a lot of money and becoming bosses thanks to the results of chili farming.

My chili and eggplant plants are considered fertile because I provide organic fertilizer from goat and cow manure. However, I have only planted a few eggplant seeds and the rest are still in the process of sowing seeds.

Unfortunately, currently the price of eggplant is quite cheap, only around $0.5 per kilogram. So many eggplant farmers in Indonesia complain about the low prices. Now many people have turned to becoming papaya, ginger and turmeric farmers. This happens because the price is soaring.

Those are some photos of chili and eggplant plants in my small garden. While waiting for the eggplant seeds to be planted, I am currently spending time in the oil palm plantation. Considering that the price of palm oil is also starting to soar, many people are opening new palm oil plantations everywhere, maybe I will share my experience about oil palm plantations at another opportunity.
Best wishes, greetings to millennial farmers!
