Mi Foto y su Historia 6: La Galeria Germania....Esp-Eng
Saludos amigos amantes de la fotografia, tantos los fotografos como los que les gustan las fotos que toman los primeros.
Cada foto cuenta su historia con solo verla, en donde vivimos, hay muchos lugares que tienen su historia, que no la saben y para eso estoy yo, para contarselas, pero lo que yo se tambien, porque siendo nativos de una ciudad, es hermoso saber y conocer la misma.
La foto que ven y para como yo la conoci hace años, da tristeza ver de como la desidia de quienes fueron los dueños, el tiempo que tambien hizo su parte.
Este lugar lo conoci como un club donde las mejores fiestas de la alta sociedad de la ciudad era ahi donde se daban cita: matrimonios, 15 años, cumpleaños, cualquier tipo de celebracion, creo que las veces que fui las puedo contar: matrimoniio de la hermana de una alumna, llevar una torta de matrimonio, fiesta de navidad de la escuela, creo que fueron esas.
Dentro del mismo se podian realizar varias fiestas el mismo dia, porque tenia varios espácios, pero el principal era el que vemos, adentro con una escalera que era el sitio ideal para las fotos y la mesa de las tortas.
Fue tambien un restaurant en sus inicios, despues un museo donde artistas de la ciudad hacian sus exposiciones, la edificacion se dice fue de un modelo de casas en Alemania, que los primeros dueños eran de ese pais y de ahi surge el nombre Galeria Germania.
Pereo verla asi en ese estado da mucha tristeza, ojala alguien pudiera recuperar ese espacio y que sea un centro cultural, volver a hacer un club, o un museo, seria bonito verlo como una vez fue.

Every photo tells its own story just by looking at it. Where we live, there are many places with their own stories that people don’t know about—and that’s why I’m here: to tell you about them. But I also know this because, as a native of this city, it’s wonderful to know and understand it.
The photo you see—and as I remember it from years ago—it’s sad to see how the neglect of the former owners, combined with the passage of time, has taken its toll.
I knew this place as a club where the city’s high society held its best parties: weddings, 15th birthday parties, birthdays—any kind of celebration. I think I can count the number of times I went there on one hand: a student’s sister’s wedding, delivering a wedding cake, the school’s Christmas party—I think those were the ones.
Inside, several parties could be held on the same day because it had multiple spaces, but the main one was the one we see here—inside, with a staircase that was the ideal spot for photos and the cake table.
It was also a restaurant in its early days, then a museum where local artists held their exhibitions. The building is said to have been modeled after houses in Germany, as the first owners were from that country—hence the name Galeria Germania.
It’s really sad to see it in such a state. I hope someone can restore that space and turn it into a cultural center, a club again, or a museum—it would be nice to see it as it once was.
