#ThoughtfulDailyPost - The River of Sucking

zekethoughtsmusic.jpg

It appears that I skipped my regular Thursday evening #thoughtfuldailypost last week! Best get at it with some positivity proliferation on the blockchain. Alliterations aside, @Wesphilbin waves the #thoughtfuldailypost flag for us and has created @thoughtfulposts as the curation account you can delegate to in order to boost its reward power for thoughtful posts.

I invite you share in my musings and the loosely-related music I pair with each.

The River

Desmond Tutu needs no introduction in my book, but there are plenty of books and he deserves an intro in the off chance someone doesn't know about him. You really should read about him here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmond_Tutu because he is such a prolific anti-apartheid and human rights activist that he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984. Any of you privileged fucks wanna bitch about your freedoms, take to biographies of this guy and call me in the morning.

The first thins I think of when I let this quote soak in is how much we treat symptoms rather than aim to solve the root cause. Even my interactions with my awesome doctor leaves me feeling this way when prescriptions seem to be aimed at lessening the impact of the issues rather than taking steps to avoid them.

I love how this starts with a pattern of helping, then progresses to thoughts on how to reduce the need for that help. Let us head upstream and solve the issues that lead to problems. It might end up saving us time dealing with the results and more time to extinguish issues and avoid more problems!

All I can think if then I read that is the river. Walk me to the river dalring.

Sucking on the way to Mastery!

Epictetus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epictetus, besides having an epic name, is a Greek stoic philosopher who lived at the same time as Jesus. Imagine having thought leadership so strong it is being quoted by the enlightened on a blockchain over 2000 years later.

December babies tend to be the youngest in their classes and groups as a way of life. Being an underdog toughens you up a little but you probably always bear the scars of cruel social interaction born from brains with little analytical thought at least 8 years. Life is tough, get a helmet. That being said, some of us underdogs REALLY resent losing or looking the fool. One of the best things I have been taught is 'you win or you learn.' This helps me personally while losing my way to victory in the eternal struggle for progression and improvement.

I must preach a little too much because my kids get this look in their eye when I try and bestow on them some pearl of wisdom. As for parenting, it is the way. Still, I like to tell them you have to learn to enjoy sucking at something or else you will never become good at anything. I think Epictetus may have had this figured out a couple millennia ago but perhaps I would not have learned even from him if this message had arrived while I was a teenager.

Such an epic quote calls for some Faith No More - Epic

This movement continues to gain momentum and is being curated by @thoughtfulposts to whom I have delegated some #hive https://hive.blog/introduceyourself/@thoughtfulposts/thoughtfulposts-introduction-or-a-thoughtfuldailypost is where you can get the details and please consider delegating to help make positivity extra rewarding.

I invite you to pen your own #thoughtfuldailypost any day of the week and spill your wisdom on the world via the blockchain.

From your post:

I must preach a little too much because my kids get this look in their eye when I try and bestow on them some pearl of wisdom. As for parenting, it is the way. Still, I like to tell them you have to learn to enjoy sucking at something or else you will never become good at anything.

My Uncle was in Law Enforcement... straight out of High School, he went into the Academy. Chief of Police before he retired... He passed away in 2017; the true definition of a "Good Cop". Anyway...

He always said, "If your kids aren't mad at you, you're doing something wrong!". When I was younger, that pissed me off. Now that I'm older, it makes me chuckle... became being a parent, I understand.

Another great post, and awesome music to boot...

I have been doing a lot of soul searching based on some family medical and unhappiness at work. I'm just waiting for hive to get the credit it deserves and allow us OGs to get out of the rat race.

I count @broncnutz and @khaleelkazi and @davedickeyyall and @acidyo and @enginewitty and @gooddream to be the real OGs and us maybe a generation after but I hear you. Anyone who survived the fork and are still around now creating content, being good community members and helping others find this platform will get paid at some point.

Hive will have to go up to about 50k for me to do the things I yet have to do and while I am not banking on it, I will at least get the chance to have a Hivexpenses paid trip to Hivefest someday to meet the folks I now call my friends.

Seeing all the crypto you are into, you must be WAY closer than I am and you deserve the wealth and happiness and freedom you will be able to buy.

They are the real OG for sure. I that felt late, but looking back anyone that got in pre fork is kind of an OG now. Those guys are the genesis.
