Hey bees! Do you also feel the pain of packing your hair with rubberband? I'm one of the few persons that finds that troubling, I get excruciating pain whenever I pack my hair with rubberband so because of that I mostly stay away from it. Today I made a band for my hair in replacement of rubberbands. I used wool and elastic band to create this. I absolutely like the idea of packing my hair with this instead of rubber band.
I will share my processes with the DIYHub community, so please stay with me through this.

Materials

  1. Blue and Milky-colour wool
  2. Knitting Pin
  3. Elastic band
  4. Scissor

Work Progression

All I needed was just wool, knitting pin and the elastic band to start the process

First of all, I joined the elastic band end to end to have a rounded band, then I tight together the two different colours of wool and made a knot on the elastic band and started knitting around it

I knitted around the elastic band as shown in this step, I made sure the entire roundness was covered with the wool before I continued to the next step

In step two, I created two chains and stitched three times into each of the base stitches
This is when I finished the first step and continued further to knit ontop that first step, thereby creating the second step/layer

I followed the same pattern of three stitches in each of the second layer created to have the third layer and you noticed that the more I knitted around each layer, the more it got twisted thereby bringing out the hair band style. I had three layers of it and that was enough to hold down and cover my hair in such a lovely pattern

Nice choice of color you got there. Can you make a tutorial on how to make a pattern next time? I've been wanting to learn how to create a pattern for my crochet projects.

It is so beautiful and charming. The way you use blue and milky color wool to make this hairband, that's amazing. Love it. Thanks!
