Success on Hive. Posting Consistency Review!

Source

You might have seen this subject covered somewhere else already! You might now, so let ME tell you about it!

The success to blogging on Hive, number one: CONSISTENCY.

To some this might seem to be a no brainer. To others this seems to be the HARDEST THING TO LEARN.
Why is that? Because it is essentially that you must learn patience and patience is something that is very difficult to force.

So consider this: You teach someone brand now how to use Hive. Let's propose that this person also does not have the funds to start investing into their Hive. So you delegate them 50HP and start teaching them. They will have to EARN their way up from 0HP. What do they need to know?

  • Set up an account. A given.
  • Save those keys! An essential, lose those keys, lose all your earnings!
  • How to construct a post. Add pictures, write your own words, add sources to pictures that are not yours. Some stuff about formatting. Need that too.
  • How to post to the correct communities and use the correct tags and as much as possible, use 10 tags. This is so that you can be found in the correct category and get the correct support.
  • There are a couple of no-no's. Plagiarizing. Spam. Posting NSFW on places that children might access. Hate-speech. These are social normatives that are supported by good morals.

These are the basics! This actually takes less than an hour to rattle off and explain to people.

And then?

WHAT'S NEXT?

Well, that is then the hard part.

A Redfish needs to keep posting and they need to keep engaging with others. Their content might be amazing but if it is not seen by anyone then why would anyone upvote it? If they have not made friends or made their voice known in the community where they are posting then who will give a damn?

You will earn nothing on Hive if you do not post and your posts will earn nearly nothing if you do not engage with others. It is that simple and yet it is that hard!

You need to CONSISTENTLY communicate with others. CONSISTENTLY put out some posts.

I actually do not recommend that a Redfish throw all of their best content onto Hive straight away. I mean... there is a STANDARD MINIMUM. But it is highly unlikely that a masterfully done post by a nobody with no friends will do much on Hive.

So you need to bide your time. Get involved in a community and post stuff. Not garbage, but do not try to sell your soul either. You need to just be consistent.

A Redfish should Consistently spend around 50 to 75% of its effort in engaging with other by commenting on other people's posts and not just wait for the likes to roll in.

If you do not like the results that you are getting on Hive then the course of action is simple: Make 50 comments.

I can nearly guarantee that the results of your POSTS will improve should you do this instead of waiting for the engagement to come to your posts. Not to mention that out of 50 comments, it is highly likely that 80% of those comments will each get a like as well!

So armed with this knowledge, go forth and educate and practice Consistency for yourself. Practice patience. You can do it!

Let's review whether or not I can make these claims at all:

At the Start of 2022, I was at 313HP.
During that year I went from Redfish to Minnow and beyond.
At the Start of 2023, I was at around 1,635HP. Over 1,300HP in one year!
Right now, at the start of August I am at 3,300HP! 1700HPish added after 7 months!
Should I carry on at this pace I should go up another 1150HP by the end of the year for a total of around 4,400-4,500HP by the end of 2023.

From 313HP to 4,500HP in 2 years?

All it took was consistency.

I believe that anyone can do it, should they have a story to tell and experiences to show and skills to teach.

What if every Redfish I ever on-boarded reached just 2000HP in two years? Hive would be full of very successful people in no time!

I leave you to these thoughts!

Have a successful day!

Cheers!
@zakludick

You are definitely in that same sort of zone. 2 years and you'll be clocking well over 3000HP as well. Just keep it up!

(Edited)

This is one of the best posts I've seen for ages - nicely done ! It needs to be pinned somewhere and every time someone gets discouraged, they should re-read it 😀

Edit to add - I like it enough that I'll pop some Ecency points at it and give it a Boost 😁

This post feels like long accusatory speech directed at me, and it's not exactly a pleasant experience, but hey, I get what I deserve. Being consistent with running my Hive blog feels impossible for now.Maybe I should lock myself up for an entire day, write ten decent posts, then publish one daily, rinse and repeat.

But enough self-pity. Huge thanks for writing this rock-solid piece of advice, I'm reblogging it right now.

Hahahahaha! No, definitely NOT an accusation to you or anyone!

We ARE often our own worst critics!

What you are feeling right now is something I feel in myself a lot as well.

I ask myself: "Why didn't I write something? Why was I not more consistent? Look how far others have gotten and how far behind I am! I could be there."

Take a breath. And fall in step with the next moment you can. Don't be too hard on yourself. Don't worry about "what-if".

Rather look at what you CAN achieve.

I was supposed to post this post in the morning. But it was not ready yet. So I posted it in the afternoon.

Still a valid and satisfying piece of work though, and your content should be too!

It was obviously an error. Meant to send it to graphene-swap not graphene.swap.

Don't suppose I can have that HBD back please?
