In Loving Memory of Garth Mobey

Today was Garth Mobey's Memorial/Celebration of Life. Garth Mobey was an artist, a musician, and a father. Practically speaking he is my father-in-law.

Around 2 weeks ago Garth passed after 7 years of living after suffering a stroke that paralyzed one side of his body. Subsequently, he was unable to play guitar again.

Garth is playing guitar again, in the afterlife. No more pain. No more frustration.

The Memorial was amazing. His daughter, Claire who is the love of my life sang just a few songs that were important to her and Garth. This was different from all the other live events Claire had done on stage.

This was not about performing correctly or properly. This was about soul. About music. It was about love.

There was a massive amount of food and very typically we over catered like a boss. So the house still has a lot of platter food that needs to be eaten.

Garth's younger brother Barry is also visiting for the Memorial and tomorrow we go to scatter Garth's ashes.

Barry to this day works with guitars and repairs them. He was also in two bands in his years and they wrote a massive number of songs. Truly, the Mobeys have a massive amount of musical talent.

With all the preparation before and the Memorial. I have not been able to much writing or posting but I wanted to write this as a memoir of my own. It is something that will be encoded on to the blockchain and remain on my posts forever and I can always search for it and find it.

I can't write or play music. But this I can do.

Go well Garth. I will keep my promise and look after your daughter.

Thank you for reading this post.

Cheers!

Sorry for your families loss ❤️ it seems he had big impact on the music talents you all carry within you. And yes, you too, @zakludick maybe you dont play or sing yourself, but you also have that wonderful love for music from your father in law ❤️

Hello, brother... it is Saturday, June 3rd in my world. I just wanted to stop by real quick and send my condolences to you and the family. When I read over your post... I see a man that was a true inspiration to all. Through his music, kindness, and love for his family.

Oh my, it appears I overlooked @wesphilbin's tag! There was a good reason he called me here. It's a bit serendipitous that we found each other now, isn't it?

A wonderful tribute this truly is. You bring out the life in him through your words and pictures. I hope you're keeping strong in this difficult time, but look at how your words are keeping Garth alive in our minds. It's truly a beautiful thing when you think about it. 😊

If there's ever a time when your memories of him hit a tough spot, feel free to reach out to me for the support. We rely on each other to grow - we're programmed that way! And yes, you are very much worth it. 😊

Thank you for your kind words.

Unfortunately Life was not done with us yet...

Garth's brother Barry came to visit us last month for the funeral.

We spoke to him on the phone on 27th of June, not even a week ago.
We got a phone call the next day that Barry, too, had passed from this world. 😭
He slipped into a diabetic coma and was gone.

It was rather sudden. I suppose that I shall wrote a proper post to honour his memory as well... 😔

Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. That's a lot to handle in such a short period of time.

I've seen those diabetic comas in my own field... it's definitely a great deal of stress on the body. If there's a saving grace in all of this: you were able to speak to him the day prior. I've read and heard stories about how some people were "about to" call or visit someone, only to miss them by a sliver of time.

I can only wish you more strength during this time. Any time you need to, just message me. I'll read any stories you have about Garth or Barry. 🙏

@zakludick...

I have said this before... and my mother gets terribly upset, when I do. But really, there's never a good time to pass. We are human... we love, and we get used to having our friends and loved one's in our lives. Perhaps a selfish mindset... but we don't want them to go... we have spent all our lives, being used to having them with us. But again... as you said... that's life.

As I read this... I send our heartfelt condolences, as well as love and positive energy. We take them with us... all those we have had to be without. But I believe we will all be together again when it's our time. Hug those kids... and honor Garth and Barry, by continuing to share your positive energy with us... here on the blockchain, as well as everyone you connect with...

Love and light, brother...
