Good news/Bad news - Its going to be a tough week or three

The picture for this post is a rather unhappy-looking Zak, yes and it is happening again!

The Bad News

So the BAD NEWS is that I will be returning to the docks for another project at the Harbour and Dry-dock.

It is not an ideal situation. I work 12-hour shifts and weekends as well. I wish I could say that the money was good but it remains to be seen. Unfortunately, this customer is not well known in the past for paying us well, and with the socio-economic environment in a recession market and post-covid lockdown environment, our company can only pay us, the staff, and the overtime once they are paid by this customer.

I am a team player. In terms of my relationship with the company that I work for, I completely understand their need to do this. I would much rather the company remain open than suffer problems with our creditors etc.

I do, however, not appreciate how this customer deals with us in an unethical manner. There is often a lot of stress in a project such as this. I do not like that I need to be in THAT kind of environment, leaving early from home and not seeing the family at the start of the day and not spending time with them in the evenings as I usually can, and totally missing out on weekends.

So, yeah... rather grim.

The Good News

We found our missing cat!

She was moved to our house only recently, had a week to live with us and then got out. After TWO WEEKS out, we got a call and a video. Lexi was spotted and coaxed to come to eat some chicken!

We zipped right out, about two blocks from where we stayed, and got her! She is home, fed, and safe. She is way skinnier but luckily she left home plump and fat and managed to survive the ordeal.

The whole family is feeling so much better now that the missed kitty has been found! Awesome!

The coming week

Hopefully, the next week or two will not be too difficult. I am worried about what this will do to my ability to post on Hive and provide good content... perhaps I can prepare a bit this weekend for that as well. I shall see what I can do...

Cheers!

Working those hours is bad enough, but then to worry about what you will be paid makes it twice as bad!

Indeed. If I was working in a stressful environment and paid well I would be happy.

But this is not the case.

Sorry about the stress you are about to go through, I believe you can cope through, and your big family on Hive will gladly understand your reasons for not posting if work gets too busy for you to make a post.

It is not a permanent thing, you will definitely be fine. I am glad you found the missing cat

There is one additional, fairly terrible situation that is added to this... but we shall see how it goes.

Goodness, sounds like work is going to be hectic for you. On the other hand I am super happy to hear that the kitty 😺 is back safe and sound. I know @clairemobey was not happy about her disappearing. All the best for the very long and busy days ahead.

Sorry state many locals are living with right now, no work or hoping on a wish and whim that clients do pay.

Very pretty little puddy tat, so glad she is back home once again.

Safe and sound, animals roam difficult to stop them exploring.

I mean. She's a highly skilled hunter, but she's also half the size of a normal adult cat. She's only 2. And vulnerable. She lost so much weight. Luckily my mom stuffed her with salmon while she was living with hetr, so she was really chonky when she got here to us. That hibernation fat saved her life. I'm going to write a whole post about this, you know 🤣😹
