Finances - The Squiggely Line of progress - A third of the way back!
Hello everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa. I have been on a journey (in my mind) and I have considered many things. The main concept that I have discovered is that your financial, crypto and blogging progress is a JOURNEY and it is one that has both ups and downs.
Realistically speaking, this is more true to life than trying to maintain a pattern of progress that is not sustainable.
You might thing that your progress in growth and savings to be linear, all ups and constantly increasing. Some people would LIKE their savings, progress and wealth to be exponential! This would be fantastic, but yet again, not very realistic.
The truth is that Squiggely Line of Progress is what really occurs in the real world. Life and our progress in growing financially is a line that has both its ups and its downs.
A little while ago, I have to do a power down to cover some unexpected life expenses. This hurt me (in my head) because I never wanted to power down my Hive at all. Especially since I have not quite yet reached Dolphin status. I am close and it was frustrating that I would be taking a 307HP step backwards from reaching that goal.
But I am patient and determined.
I know that I shall reach the Dolphin status anyway!
Life takes us on a journey and if we keep to our goals and expectations, then we shall reach our goals!
9 days ago I posted Finances - Swallow my Pride and Survive I had to power down 307HP from my total of 5007HP at the time.
My HP is now 4803HP, so if you had not known about the power down and the progress in between, then it would look like I had dropped around 203HP instead of 307HP, this means that in only 9 days that I gained 104HP!
This is great progress for me if I look at my averages that I have been earning for the last 14 weeks or so. So I am determined to continue this trend, as fast as possible and regain my position of 5006HP within another 2 weeks to 20 days!
On Hive the Opportunity is the only thing that is guaranteed. But with determination, good tagging and good engagement, it is far more certain that you will reach the goals that you set out to accomplish!

Came across your blog via a post on HBD from a year back, I like your attitude and feel your frustration of having to withdraw your savings while you had other plans to reach your goals.
But you seem resilient and determined to keep at it and build back, just imagine if you DID NOT build anything aside from your work income. In the end it was there and you were able to avoid more debt which is a win.
