Water goblin/ Duende del agua (Eng- Esp)

I've been lost in the pages of some books for a few days now. It's true that I took my time choosing which of the books I'd read would be the one I was going to suggest to you.
Just today, I had this book in my bag and by chance, I ran into its author. It was then that I told myself it would undoubtedly be Duende de agua by the writer Armando López Carralero, who uses the winter username @mandypoet, the book I was going to present to you.
Duende de agua is one of those books we've known since the first manuscripts; it's as if I had written it, because I love it as if it were my own.
Coincidentally, now, when my skin gets goosebumps, I feel like sharing the first poem with you.
SEARCH
I search for the sleep I lost
frolicking on my pillow.
I search for the tender gaze
I received from my grandmother.
I search for the book I read
last night, while the sea
came to conquer me
atop a seagull.
I search for the floating moon
so I can learn to swim.
Without a doubt, it has everything a children's book should have when Olga Marta Pérez, Leidy González Amador, and Alberto Peraza, the members of the children's poetry jury for the 2022 Calendar Prize, unanimously decided to award this book the prize.
Let me tell you, the Calendar Prize is one of the highest awards given in Cuba to writers under 35 years of age. To win it, the book must be quite well-written, almost proofread by the best writers.
I wasn't able to attend the awards ceremony, but I couldn't miss the book launch on February 22, 2023, at La Cabana, the main venue of the Havana International Book Fair.
This title was published by Casa Editora Abril, one of the most important publishing houses in the country, primarily publishing books for children and young adults. That's the label.
It also featured an extraordinary production team, who produced the final product, a gem: this book, which is currently part of my son's library.
Tiurka Prieto, Ranfis Suárez, Carlos Javier Solís, Adriana Daniel, and Magalis Lora participated in the creation of this work of art, in addition to the illustrations by Hanna G. Chomenko.
All I can say about Armandito is that he's a young man from a town overlooking the sea, on the northern coast of Las Tunas. He has published several books: Light of the Apocalypse, The Flight of Wings, Tremor of a Broken Leaf, Stories on the Pillow, The Paths of Water, and The Sudden Floods.
He's a friend you can chat with anywhere: a park, a café, reciting poems, or simply having a cup of coffee.
I'd like to share another of the poems that readers will find in the pages of this book.
THE SELLER
The toy seller
hawks new toys:
cardboard airplanes,
stuffed dolls,
antique wooden tops,
flowers that smell like heaven,
glass accordions,
fire-breathing guns.
But the seller never
hawks happy dreams.
He says they're too expensive
and that he doesn't have enough money.
A beautiful romance to bid you farewell, and my emotion reaches its peak. So I dive back into its pages and invite you to another encounter.

Hola amigos
Llevaba algunos días perdida en las páginas de algunos libros. Es cierto que me tomé mi tiempo a la hora de escoger cual de los libros que me leí sería el que les iba a proponer.
Justo hoy traía este libro en la cartera y por casualidad me encontré con su autor. Ahí entonces me dije que indiscutiblemente sería Duende del agua del escritor Armando López Carralero, que usa como usuario hiver @mandypoet, el libro que les iba a presentar.
Duende del agua es uno de esos libros que conocemos desde el momento de los primeros manuscritos, es como si yo lo hubiera escrito, pues lo amo como si fuera mío.
Casualmente ahora cuando se me pone la piel de gallina se me antoja compartirles el primer poema.
BÚSQUEDA
Busco el sueño que perdí
retozando con mi almohada.
Busco la tierna mirada
que de abuela recibí.
Busco el libro que leí
anoche, mientras el mar
me venía a conquistar
encima de una gaviota.
Busco la Luna que flota
para aprender a nadar.
Sin duda alguna, tiene todo lo que debe tener un libro para niños cuando, Olga Marta Pérez, Leidy González Amador y Alberto Peraza, los miembros del jurado de poesía para niños del Premio Calendario 2022, decidieron por unanimidad otorgar el premio a este libro.
Les cuento, el Premio Calendario, es uno de los mayores lauros que se entregan en Cuba a los escritores menores de 35 años. Para alcanzarlo, el libro debe estar bastante bien hecho, casi hasta revisado por los mejores escritores.
Yo no pude estar en la entrega de premios, pero no pude perderme la presentación del libro el 22 de febrero de 2023 en La cabaña, sede principal de la Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana.
Este título vio la luz por la Casa Editora Abril, una de las editoriales más importante del país y que mayormente publican libros para niños y jóvenes. Ese es el sello.
Además contó con un equipo de realización extraordinario, que hicieron como producto final una joya que es este libro, que en la actualidad forma parte de la biblioteca de mi hijo.
En la realización de esta obra de arte participaron Tiurka Prieto, Ranfis Suárez, Carlos Javier Solís, Adriana Daniel y Magalis Lora, además de las ilustraciones que estuvieron en las manos de Hanna G. Chomenko.
De Armandito solo puedo decir que es un muchacho de un pueblo con vista al mar, al litoral norte de Las Tunas. Tiene publicado varios libros Luz de apocalipsis, La fuga de unas alas, Temblor de hoja rota, Historias en la almohada, Los caminos del agua y Las súbias crecidas.
Que es un amigo con el que puedes conversar en cualquier sitio, un parque, una cafetería, diciendo poemas o sencillamente tomando un café.
Quiero proponerles otro de los poemas que encuentran lectores en las páginas de este libro.
EL VENDEDOR
El vendedor de juguetes
pregona juguetes nuevos:
avioncitos de cartón,
muñecones de relleno,
trompos de madera antigua,
flores con olor a cielo,
acordeones de cristal,
pistolas que escupen fuego.
Pero nunca el vendedor
pregona felices sueños.
Él dice que son muy caros
y que no alcanza el dinero.
Un romance precioso para despedirme de ustedes y mi emoción llega a su máximo nivel. Así que me sumerjo otra vez en sus páginas y los invito a otro encuentro.

The second poem, "The Salesman," caught my attention... what a subtle way of expressing something so profound. I think it's great that children's reading is encouraged in this way.
