The truth is, we don’t know

I wasn’t planning on writing about this again, but a comment someone made privately about this post made me remember a part of this topic I had forgotten to include.

A couple of years ago, I came across a preaching by a famous preacher where she said “God loves us uniquely” and for the longest while, that stuck in my head. That feeling of being special. Like there’s really no one like you and some magical force out there loves you for who you are.

It was a nice feeling to hold onto and as a person who dealt with major self-esteem troubles, it helped me feel loved on days when I forgot I had people around me and wanted to feel a sense of mental comfort. It’s a feeling I highly recommend.

I understand that as we go through life, there’s a need to make it all make sense. There’s a need to have these answers and to feel like everything we’re going through has to be for some divine purpose. Religion gives us that feeling. It makes us feel like we have these answers to questions that we genuinely have no clue about.

The truth is, we don’t know. We don’t know what’s true and what’s not. I, for one, believe that the answers to our existence lie in death and everything between birth and death is only a bonus. There are so many of us on this planet that believing that every single one of us was brought here to have a purpose that’s meant for something good or great is highly illogical.

We’re just born and dealt a hand that we could use to either improve the lives of the next set of beings to come or make their lives a lot harder. This is the major role we play during the years that fall between life and death.

So, are we special or unique? I don’t think so. I think I’m special to the people who love me but in the grand scheme of the universe, I think I’m simply a spec of dust that can cease to exist at any point in time and that’s really okay.

Truth is, We are unique but only to those who value our existence and to the creator, and if you sense yourself as being unique then why not... every body is unique in his or her way

On the other hand, life can happen and we will be forgotten by this same people.
