Movie Review: Knox Goes Away (2023)

Knox Goes Away centres around a contract killer called John Knox (played by Roy McKinnon). He's had a clean sheet and had successfully worked under a guy called Jericho for years until he came down with a severe case of Dementia.

His first flop was the unintentional shooting of his partner Tommy during a job. Right after that, his son whom he hasn't talked to in years shows up at his doorstep after killing a guy who raped his daughter.

The story's pretty linear like a lot of good movies have been recently. John, knowing about his dwindling mental state, had a short list of things he needed to do to save his son and ensure his loved ones were well taken care of when he had to leave.

He never quite made it clear where he was going away to but it was pretty obvious at some point. He played his cards well enough and made it all seem like an old vendetta he had against his son.

While there have been better movies made, I'd give this movie a solid 7/10 for its simplicity and thought-provoking scenes. Not as many fight scenes as I would have preferred but just enough witty comedy to make it worthwhile, especially for a thriller movie.
