Getting busy again

It has been a very long while since I put in a lot of work at anything. I think the last time I put in hours of work had to be when I was in the middle of designing my last Fintech project which has been on hold for nearly 2 months now.

Since then, I haven’t found a reason to get busy with anything for long hours. I’ve only had to write for an hour or two once in a while. But I’m hopeful that all that will change in the next couple of weeks.

I recently opened up to myself about a lot of fears I’ve been harbouring due to a number of failures I’ve had a couple of years ago. A number of business failures failed work expectations and random hopes of mine that got shattered.

These constant failures made me apprehensive about hoping. It made me not want to expect good things, and just live life. I began to feel like talking about good things made them less likely to happen. Someone told me it was a mental coping mechanism out of a fear of failure and I’m now inclined to agree.

I’ve always been a hard worker but in recent weeks, I’ve almost felt paralyzed. Nothing has felt worthy of my time but I’m still trying. I’m readjusting plans and doing things I believe will make me happy.

I changed the initial plan I had for my Podcast. I’ll no longer be looking out for and interviewing tech founders, instead, I’ll be talking about what it’s like to relocate to different countries.

I’ll be gathering information on several topics about countries like Canada, the US, the UK, etc. and talking about different things like - the most in-demand tech roles, relocating with a spouse, career options that could help you succeed, starting a business as an immigrant, and all other topics relating to these.

Eventually, I’ll also be having guests, but for now, I’ll be making recordings and hopefully uploading 5 videos in the next 2 weeks. Having done my research, I’ve observed that this would most likely be the best path for me to follow too.

For the first time in a long while, I’m actually excited about this path. Not only do I love topics about travelling, I also love reading about different countries and talking about various aspects of culture.

I’m looking forward to actually recording in a few weeks and believing that it’ll all work out well enough. I’ve finally gotten all my necessary equipment so I have nothing holding me back anymore. As always, wish me luck!

More than wishing you luck, I wish you success in your new venture, and find passion in your activities so that you don't see it as a job... that's luck.

Thank you. I almost forgot what it's like to feel passionate about anything.
