Financial setbacks

My life has taken several turns since the last time I wrote an update about it and I'm pretty excited to finally have more time to invest in my writing. I've been looking forward to this moment for some months now.

In my previous piece, I wrote about having two jobs that were both full-time and required a lot more of my time than I bargained for. However, I'm now officially done with one of the jobs and thankfully, I won't be searching for an extra job anytime soon. Accepting that job was a mistake from the get-go.

I was tasked with designing an entire e-commerce website including interactive states for mobile and tablet, a user dashboard, a driver dashboard and a mobile app. All within only 4 months with pay of less than $280 at today's exchange rate. It was torture, to say the least.

I intended to use the entire earnings to buy a laptop but I ended up taking money from my other job to get a laptop as the money, regardless of how meagre it was, was not forthcoming. I completed my tasks but the person refused to accept that I was done and was unwilling to pay my final balance of $40. I was heartbroken because I had hopes for that money but it's all behind me now.

My other job has also been quite slow over the last couple of weeks. We had a huge break in December and January where we averaged $500 to $800 every week but all things must come to an end and now we're making between $300 to $400 weekly still.

You'd probably wonder why I took that other job when I already had this one and the simple answer is greed and fear. At least 70% of these earnings have been saved towards my plans to relocate next year so I felt I needed some extra money to prevent me from using that particular money. It made perfect sense in the beginning, I just didn't anticipate the level of work I would have to put in.

Well, that's over now and I can now focus on building my Hive portfolio. I've had a few losses here but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to make some of the lost money back before the end of the year. It'll just take a minute for me to get reaccustomed to the system once again as there have been so many changes. I'm excited and anxious.

That being said, it's good to be back and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

As always, good luck to you and wish me luck too!

Well, welcome back.

About the heartless human that refused to pay your balance, you should have taken down the entire site to hurt his feelings... Lol.. just kidding.

I hope your relocation plans are still in place and you are getting closed to making it a reality.

Please don't get greedy next time for the sake of your mental health and great use of your time 🙃

Once again, welcome back

Thank you. Everyone actually suggested that I did that to the person but I didn't want any situation where I would have to hear his voice again.

Relocation plans keep getting more expensive with each day that it gets closer but I'm being positive.

I've learnt my lesson, I won't be chasing any contract jobs until further notice.

Thanks for the warm welcome I look forward to getting used to the system once again.
