Wingless Flight

Though wings we lack to change our skyward ways,
Within our grasp we hold far greater power -
The power to lift each other to new days,
Or let love's light cease in a wounded hour.

Our hands were made not just to wound or tear,
But gently raise each other to new heights;
With touch bestow the courage to dare, steer
Each other toward wisdom's beckoning lights.

So when harsh words or doubts would pull down, stay:
Reach out your hand, a comforting gesture make -
Remind with kindness what we often stray
From, that in unity our true strength we take.

No golden wings our earthbound course demand,
With joined hands we fly where no others can.
