WARRIOR OF LIGHT

is a typical human being, whom God has endowed with any number of virtues, but the most outstanding of all has been optimism.

Braulio is the one who sings from his heart, that's why those who listen to him can feel all the good vibes he wants to transmit through his melodies, he is also an intelligent guy, almost about to culminate his great dream BEARNING A B.A. IN EDUCATION.

It seems that everything in his life is going well, until one day sadly his eyes stopped appreciating the light, all product of a disease which Braulio discovered just after becoming blind, however he did not let that consume his will to live and as a brave warrior he accepted his destiny.

Due to his new condition he had no other choice but to reinvent himself, so in reflection he concluded that his new stage was perhaps ironically better than the previous one. Since the majority of all human beings were governed only by color, shape, how it feels, what is the taste and smell of everything around him, and of all that he only needed to appreciate the colors, then he began in a very natural way to recognize through smell, to give shape to objects and he did it by touching with his hands.

He had more in his favor than against him with his new condition, perhaps he says it mainly to have more courage, not to decay and thus to continue forward demonstrating more than to others to himself that with willpower he overcomes obstacles no matter how difficult they may be.

Braulio continues with his full life as demonstrated by the facts, his voice is stronger than ever and with it manages to reach the soul bristling the skin of all, continues every day reaping great friendships, harboring hidden loves because despite everything there is always a dulcinea del toboso for a quixote.

This warrior of the light is no exception to this, but undoubtedly he has not been able to conclude that dream of receiving his longed-for university degree, so he went to the university to fulfill it.

Once inside the university, he asked to meet with the rector of the renowned university. Immediately Braulio and his companion found themselves in front of him, Braulio presented him with a letter explaining the reasons why he had not finished or presented his thesis.

It was evident that Braulio was a person with certain limitations. In that letter he also argued that the person accompanying him was a person he trusted enough to be able to develop and rely on to support him in fulfilling each of his academic requirements.

With great hope Braulio waited to hear his positive response, but incredibly it was the opposite, the rector considered his condition as a limitation to transcribe his thesis on his own, under no circumstances would he allow him to accept his request.

Braulio and his companion could not believe what the rector had ruthlessly expressed, even though he tried to make him understand everything he wanted, it did not have a positive result. Braulio and his companion withdrew, for the first time. He felt a certain blow in his heart, however he tried to continue but sadly the disease attacked his already fatigued body, finding himself in his humble bed dying and between tears he wanted to say goodbye to each of the people with whom he had shared pleasant and unforgettable moments.

Intoning a sad melody he made his song become a whisper, his smile was covered with pain, his desire to succeed and achieve his title were extinguished along with him, but what he remembered most was how his unfinished dream remained in that dark office, inside that elegant desk right there in one of his drawers ... Braulio died.

Many of those who loved him were able to attend his funeral due to the restrictions of the pandemic. Braulio was marked by the absurd and selfish decision of that mean rector who did not allow him to give his mother his degree as a great token of gratitude for everything she had given him.

On the day of the burial, that same rector, upon learning of what had happened, wanted to remedy everything by trying to honor him in front of his coffin and to confer the title post mortem and pay tribute to him, but those present and his mother did not allow him to do so. Braulio would no longer need it, he was no longer important and he had been given the best of all titles when he was named WARRIOR OF LIGHT forever.

Hello @yolmare,

This is a moving story. Braulio could see so much, although he was blind. And the rector could see nothing that was important, although he was sighted.

Thanks for sharing your story in The Ink Well, @yolmare. Braulio had a sad life, but at least he was honored post mortem. It was a touching story.

It felt like a real event.
I love the fact he didn't allow circumstances to break or pull him down. He accepted anything that came his way and define it to suit him.

Beautiful story.
